Christian has always been a real one when it comes to fashion and creating new ideas. Over the past few months I've gone on an unsubscribing spree of fashion influencers because their videos have gotten stale and out of touch by just repeating the same basic same things instead of evolving. When you mentioned "dad jacket" that reminded me of a leather jacket that my grandpa used to wear and I grabbed it out the closet to find out that it still fits. Broken in raw denim after it is 2-3 years old, got a nice soft blue color and the first repairs in is also god tier. Requires patience to not wash too often, requires thought to not wear it in scenarios where it is going to get so dirty that it stinks and has to be washed afterwards like wild parties or vacations where you travel a lot on dirty train seats etc., requires effort to hang outside to get fresh, do dip it between neccessary washes to get fresh again. Requires intelligence and thought to choose the right size to begin with to not end up with a pair of denim that is to loose or to tight. Aftterall it gives: +100 individuality by fades that your wearing and washing caused, +100 comfort, +100 fulfilment by having achieved all that through hard work, +100 karma points for saving the environment from at least 2-3 pairs of cheap denim someone else buys in the timeframe of 5-10 years.

@@notdanny4985 Dipping means putting it into warm or cold water and just letting it sit there, moving the jeans around a little bit. Drying them with fresh air afterwards makes them fresh again and is more gentle to the colors. Washing raw denim less leads to higher contrast fades, but sometimes they just need to be freshened up, so a dip in between regular washing an be helpful.

Shout out to the worn in leather tier. I fell into western wear years back and the joy of finding used cowboy boots that are well broken in for cheap, wearing them a few times to get the proper feel, and then bam - feels like you've had them bois on for 20 years. Blessed moment. Also passed down jackets, ooo yeah. Got my dads airforce parka for those rare super cold days and my granddads football cardigan that I still wear regularly. I wish they were easier to wear in more outfits but when the temps dip hard they come out.

Finally retiring my Broken-In Leather Shoes (a pair of Nappa leather Doc Marten ankle boots) after nearly 15 years of noble service. I had a dancer shoes that I loved so much at 11 y/o so I wore them to school because it was very similar to school uniform shoes. Every day. I wore them to my first communion, man I was so secure and happy with my white robe, I run a little in front of the church, it was raining so I slipped and fall on the back, I had mud all over my robe and I had to do my first communion like that. If your gonna use shoes with leather/wood sole for every day use, put a rubber sole on them so you won't slip.
