18:03 Viharamahadevi park used to be Victoria Park back then named after Queen Victoria, they even had a statue of Queen Victoria which was replaced by the Golden Lord Buddha Statue in 1958.

The building and church architecture is beautiful. I would be nervous crossing the streets. 😂 A lot of people in Colombo speak English. The price for food and electronic stuff is very reasonable. Mandy and Lee, thank you for sharing the fun and informative video. ❤

12:13 that's the old town hall. 17:47 the white building is the new town hall. The area is actually known as Town Hall (part of Cinnamon Gardens). But we no longer have the "town hall" concept but rather it is now the Colombo Municipal Council, which serves kind of similar functional purpose.

Thanks 🙏 I'd quite like a look inside the new town hall to compare the difference. 😊. I wish we'd spent more time around Cinnamon Gardens. It seems a lovely area. A city like Colombo really deserves at least a week to just scratch the surface. I'm looking forward to returning one day. 🙏❤️

British colonialism always leave a water mark of there creation of what they build whether it is a Parliament building or a White House or even a Colonial Hotel with similar architecture, if you take Colombo Parliament building for example the water mark of the building is the statue in front, plus the yellow junction box that you walked through is British design. Funny enough.

This is so true. One of my favourite buildings is Victoria station in Bombay/Mumbai. A true work of art. ❤️
