This cake looks so good. I make something similar, it's baked in a sheet pan, it's called fruit punch bars, has the coconut,fruit cocktail & nuts too. Icing poured over hot bars.

@@23anyer Fruit Punch Bars 2 eggs, 1 1/2c sugar,1lb 1 oz can fruit cocktail undrained, 2 1/2 c.flour, 1 1/2 t. baking soda, 1 1/2 t salt, 1 1/2 t vanilla, 1 1/3 c coconut, 1/2 chopped walnuts . Beat eggs & sugar until fluffy. Add fruit, flour, soda, salt,& vanilla, beat on med. until blended . Add coconut & nuts. Spread on large greased cookie sheet( 10 x 15). Bake 350 for 25-30 min. Glaze 1 stick butter,3/4 c sugar, 1/4 c evaporated milk, cook for 2 minutes. Add 1//2 c chopped walnuts & 1/2 c coconut. Spread on warm cake. Enjoy .

My Momma used to make her own fruit cocktail and even had people pay her to make it for them. She would make a punch bowl full of it. It was costly but so good. Never heard of a cake like this though. Looks good Marie. Have a slice for me Calvin and Marie lol.

This cake is so delicious, we’ve made it - and it’s most always served with whipping cream - like yours is ! Our recipe calls it Ugly Duckling Cake - the one difference is,ours starts out with a yellow cake mix- that’s the only difference - it’s definitely a fun recipe 💛
