I moved into a new house 2 years ago and had to leave my old food forest behind. I miss it. My new food forest is on a 1 acre plot in my back yard. All the trees are clones that were producing fruit when i bought them. It gave me a good head start. I have around 60 trees, 100 bushes, and 20 or so vines. All produce some kind of food. I can't wait till everything grows up.

I have often wondered why cities and towns dont plant fruit trees when they are planting to decorate all around town. Especially in parks. I realize there would be a bit of mess BUT how wonderful to be out on a walk in your area and be able to grab an apple or a peach off the tree!!! I think anyhow 😊

In Ukraine they do this. You can drive on highway or walk between highrise building and you will see apricot, mulberry, apple, pear or cherry trees. I do not understand, why all these HOA in the US do not allow to plant fruit tree, force people to grow grass and waste water on it.

We had a nature walk here in Texas with all kinds of fruit trees and figs. The concept was great that you could walk and pick a fruit. However, there are people who would come pick the whole tree for themselves and leave nothing for anyone else.

Very cool. She mentions being in driest area. Coral Gables up to Flagler had avocado orchards and lots of citrus, oranges, grapefruit, limes, lemons, guava. Mangos don't mind wet roots, while avocado needs higher dryer ground. Love these food forest shows.

This is sandy soil so it drains well, and there's a coastal ridge that starts in east Boca, then crosses I-95 and continues north through Palm Beach County, crossing back to the east side of 95 at Lake Worth and finally terminating just south of Stuart. Also, it rains a little less by the coast than it does inland during the rainy season.

Pandan plant is used by the Vietnamese for flavoring foods like deserts or drinks like soy milk. Usually anything green that’s not supposed to gives it that hint of vanilla flavor as she mentioned. You should grow some Paul, it’s quite expensive and the bottled stuff they sell in the market is usually fake if they don’t sell the leaves.

This lady did not grow any of these plants except the pineapple, as you can see cannot even grow. Whyte people never grow anything good in their yard except palm trees. To her credit, I am surprised she did not cut all the fruit trees. All these fruits came from the caribeans people. Those early settlers she is talking about are melanated people.
