I met Cecil just after he bought the property. He educated me on types of mangos. He would give me a tasting every time i went there to buy mangos. It was a good time! Thanks Cecil!

Florida is so similar to Bangladesh in climate and even how it weathers structures like buildings. The gentleman has a decent collection of mango varieties. May I recommend some mangoes from Bangladesh to try planting? I believe they will do very well in the Floridian climate: 1. Himsagar 2. Langra 3. Fazli 4. Gopalbhog 5. Amrapali 6. Khirshapat (Himsagar variety) 7. Lakhna (Loknath) 8. Ashwina 9. Misri You will not regret having these in your garden. Delicious, high yielding varieties.

This year isn't a good year for most regarding fruit production, so it's difficult to tell whether it's due to the issues mentioned in the video. Last year's production should have been inquired about.

There are a lot of goobers out there planting vigorous trees too close. He's doing a public service, but the high density "ride or die" crowd refuse to admit the absurdity of their lack of logic.

@Gardenlife873 ай бұрын
Yes, Paul. As I commented before, extreme pruning is a must for high density planting to work. Once a year doesn't work. But it is definitely doable as long as the tree isn't extremely vigorous.

I had planted 15x 15 kesar variety of mango trees but it too close it reduces growth and air circulation lead to fruiting insect problem Now in my gen.3 farm i m going to 30x20 .

How can take some of your mangoes tree to Guyana to try out. There is a mango in Guyana called "Buxon Spice." that is really sweet and would like to graft so that it can grow bigger. Thanks.

you would have to buy budwood and sneak it in other countries. Or maybe you can have it mailed but it would cost a lot for quick shipping. I don't ship it.

I guess I'm not the only one that had a low production year. Here where I live, there was a noticeable lack of insects during the bloom. It was very obvious on any trees that produced a second bloom. The first bloom had nearly no fruit, while the second bloom produced 10x the fruit of the first.

those dangerous chemicals also increase the nutrient density in fruit and vegetables. paclobutrazol is only allowed for ornamentals and landscaping in the US, but is used for fruit tree production in many countries. Likely harmless when used correctly. Increased calcium content of fruit and veg.

@FruitfulTrees3 ай бұрын

@originaldanman3 ай бұрын
Yes, but it's better if you have an older tree, and it depends on the variety. I started grafting unknown varieties from trees in my neighborhood and will find out what they are when they fruit. I grafted a few last year and this year 2 grafts had fruit, and others that flowered but didn't fruit.
