They were and still are some of the most inspirational bands ever. The 4 of them were some else together. Nick's guitar squalls are endlessly intensely beautiful and ferocious at once. Amazing.

Yes by miles. Anybod saying otherwise doesnt have a clue what the 90's were like for real bands who didnt have to use synths or 60 minute drum solos to show how good a musician you were.

Easy to forget how Verve were out of step with the times, when this was recorded. Nirvana steamrollered everything back then. Nothing else seemed relevant in the months after the release of Nevermind.
