Sitting today feeling so sad about Andrew's passing, especially given his young age, and having a Fruity Knitting watch-a-thon. It's so wonderful to see these early ones when you were just starting out. I'm sure I speak for all your viewers when I say again how much we will miss Andrew. I really hope you continue with the podcast Andrea. Yours is of the highest quality out there. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers, and I've put it on my bucket list to meet you some day at a yarn festival. xo

A year since you wrote this post Carol about going back into earlier podcasts from Andrea and Andrew of fruit Knitting - and like you I always feel the sadness of his passing but at the same time I am so so appreciative to have their great 'collection' as a charming documentation of Andrew's contributions and their really delightful partnership.

I love how you asked if that description of steeking made sense. It's easy to forget how to explain something once we know it so well. Thanks for taking the time to ensure we all could understand what you were describing!

I've been coming back to re-watch the first episodes again and again, especially for the bits of tutorials and helpful hints. I'll be knitting my first seamed sleeve caps soon, so this was particularly helpful! It's bittersweet to see Andrew in these past episodes. The combined energy and enthusiasm was/is always so contagious. He was welcomed in my home much as Mr. Rogers was when I was a kid. Looking forward to the latest episodes and interviews, and the excuse to binge watch from the beginning again!

what a fantastic episode! I haven't done seeking of any sort tho I have done stranded knitting. I say stranded only because I haven't done any design Fair Isle or with traditional yarns. The technical parts might be heavy learning but is so absolutely enlightening. Also, I have read Lene"s blog for awhile now but it was so lovely to see her in person in her stunning and beloved Lapland. Thank you for sharing so much! Lu

Just found your podcasts the other week and am going back to watch your older podcasts. I don’t do much knitting as I live in Queensland Australia apart from Kerry Lord’s Toft animals as it’s too hot for most of the year to wear knitted jumpers. I have so enjoyed watching you and Andrew and am so very saddened about his death. I have joined Patreon to help give you a little financial support to continue to make these great quality videos.

After watching the first episode and being awed by the two Alice Starmore sweaters - Henry VIII and St Brigid, I just had to order some Starmore books for myself even though I've never knitted a garment before! Just find the books so inspiring and beautiful and uplifting. So far I've bought Aran Knitting, Tudor Roses (the original) and Fiar Isle Knitting. Thank you for opening my eyes to these lovely designs which haven't gotten much attention from other knitting blogs I've read!

That was so nice of you guys to talk about me! Thank you! :D And obviously I enjoyed the technical segment. As one of those knitters who has admired a lot of Alice Starmore's older sweaters but not admired their looser fit (I love that Andrea prefers a neat fit too), I feel I'll be following your lead one of these days. I borrowed Tudor Roses from my library, and I love it, but OMG carrying it home it was sooo heavy! I did the Elizabeth the 1st sweater (but with the Thistle cable from one of the other sweaters) & so enjoyed it, and I received the yarn for Christmas (not Alice Starmore yarn, I hadn't felt it yet, so I opted for some Quince fingering, since I love their yarns for sweaters) to make the Jane Seymour sweater, so that'll be my next Starmore. But eventually I want to do a multi-colour fair isle sweater of hers (maybe Margaret Tudor!), and I will definitely use her yarn for that. And now I've rambled far too long. hehe It's been so fun watching Andrew's socks come to life too! And the magic video was great. Jealous you can go hiking in medieval castle ruins!

As you can see, I’m finally getting a little time to do Some catching up 😃 And Andrew, I did MY first pair of socks on Magic Loop and that was also my first Magic Loop experience. I did Toe Up and an Afterthought Heel (which is my favourite way) and in the process I learned by just one error that the yarn MUST be feeding Between the Needles and from the last stitch on the opposite cable. I did a pair of socks on DPN’s right after, Top Down and Gusseted Heel, and I decided I’m lazy to make the Second Sock in the future, so I stuck with getting “Two at a Time” done so I can move on to the next project. Andrea, your Fair Isle skills are scary, and Magnificent! Not everyone has the gumption to take on a large Fair Isle project and that puts you among the Elite of knitters, because you also modify the design to your body type and make it a work of art. I have been procrastinating on doing a sweater and most definitely procrastinating doing Fair Isle because I will have to practice English and Continental knitting before taking up such a project. You and Andrew make a Magically fun team and it’s never boring. I love all the technical details. I’m catching up from Episode 1 onward.
