@Rachael Hoffman-Dachelet - You _are_ loved! HaShem loves you!! HE created you! 😊 People can disappoint and disappear from our lives, but HaShem is _always_ present, and _always_ loves us. Though there are multiple passages describing the love HS has for you, one that may help is for you to read Isaiah 54:10 which says (in part): “…but my steadfast love shall not depart from you,…”. 😃 💕

This video made me cry. It brought back a memory I haven't thought of in years. When you mentioned the noise the pressure cooker makes, it reminded me of when my grandmother. When I was a child I remember her cooking and her telling me she knew the chicken was done when it started talking to her. I didn't understand at the time what she meant. I was a child and couldn't understand how a piece of meat to talk. It was later she explained that when the fried chicken is done it makes a sh noise. Just like the noise you said your pressure cooker makes

I remember baking chocolate rolls (like cinnamon rolls but with cocoa instead) with my precious grandma. My mother always welcomed me to be in the kitchen helping and learning. She asked me once how I knew how to do something I was doing in the kitchen and I told her it is my “memory cookbook”. I can clearly envision standing on a chair at the end of the counter and watching her do things. I recall those memories whenever I cook. It is a priceless gift that they gave me. I hope I have passed it on to my son (he loves to cook as well).

Hello Sara - the trick with silicone covers is to press them down into the bowl so the sides sink down and make a good seal! I had the same frustration until I figured that out! America’s test kitchen recommends the Kuhn Rikon EPICUREAN GARLIC PRESS STAINLESS STEEL…it has a removable hopper and is so easy to clean! I buy most of their recommendations and I am quite happy! I love Rosh Hashana prep. I'm not Jewish, but I love your videos so much. I grew up with a single dad who did not know how to cook (we mostly ate microwaved stuff and ordered pizza and Chinese food) and am learning to cook for the first time now at 30, so I can honestly say that instead of family cooking memories, some of my first memories in the kitchen are with you and your videos! I love your calming voice and how carefully you explain each step, even the things that might seem obvious to someone who is a good cook, because for those who are just learning, having those "obvious" things explained is invaluable. I hope your new year is as sweet as you are! Oh-- and the dessert I would most want to try is the pomegranate sauce one!

In my experience with the silicone covers, they have to be stretched, really stretched, nubby side up, with a slight downward pull, in order to cling to the edges of the container. I stretch the cover from the corners - one at a time, then as each side retracts the silicone clings. It took some trial and error to discover the proper stretch force needed, but now I’m used to it and it’s just a second nature process that requires no thought. I hope this works for you! PS: For microwave heating, simply lay over the bowl without stretching, but if sealing AND microwave heating, leave a small steam escape opening unsealed along an edge.

Dear Sara, I watch your preps before going to sleep after a night shift, I drift off praying for this quality time with family in future. This year we moved into our first own home, I worked very long hours to find the place we needed for my husband's business (and therefore more time myself at home), and your way of life inspires some of the decisions we're making about the layout and use of our new space. My desire for meaningful mealtimes to connect. For my birthday I asked family if we could just have a homemade meal at home and in part this is thanks to the peace you share with your own family to the wider world. How blessed we are to live in an Age when glimpses of spiritual dedication and fulfillment can be exchanged easily. Thank you so much. Vicky, UK x

Wet hands for meatballs and shaping meatloaf! That’s how I was taught. Your daughter did a beautiful job on the desserts they were all beautiful and fun. Same with the bread all gorgeous and each so unique, what a joy to partake. 😋so many of my favorite foods I can hardly wait to take on the challenge myself! I love Ross Hashanah prep you make it so beautifully. I hope someone has told you today how special and loved you are. May you be blessed with peace and joy as well sweet lady. ❤

I love Rosh Hashanah prep!❤. Everything looks beautiful and delicious! Yes I think learning from our mothers, aunts and grandmothers how to cook and care for our families is so important! I had a Swedish grandma who was a wonderful cook. She was my maternal grandmother and my mother also was a great cook. From them, I learned how to cook Swedish meatballs, lentil soup, pickled beets, abelskivers, cookies, Swedish pancakes and a special prune coffee cake. Take care!! Lea your ice cream looks delicious!

I've only recently discovered your channel and it's really wonderful and very soothing and wonderfully positive. I am making my way through all your videos and am really enjoying them, not just for the recipes but also your positive outlook. I, too, have wonderful memories making Shabbat and holiday meals with my grandmother (z"l) and really enjoy making meals for my family. The best secret she taught me is that when you make salads that you want to be crisp when you serve them, like a green salad, the trick is to put the dressing on the bottom of the bowll and the salad on top and then you can store it in the refrigerator until you're ready to eat it. Of course, #ILoveRoshHashanaprep and I've already started mine. Wishing you and your family a Shana tova u'metuka and all the blessings of the new year.

I love Rosh Hosannah prep! Everything looks delicious! All, your food does. I’m not Jewish but I teach UPK for a school district that is located in a Jewish Community Center. So I have much respect for your faith. I am Catholic and one thing I have come to appreciate even with our differences we worship the same God and have similar values. Everyone, I work with is wonderful! I was a stay at home mom for four years. Due to financial changes. I had to go back to work. My little ones are small so they are in the JCC childcare center and taken care of extremely well. I could have not asked for a better set up and more welcoming group to work with. It’s been a huge blessing! I just wanted to share. ❤️

I truly appreciate all your dedication in sharing your lovely cuisine. The most important ingredient in Rosh Hashanah cookery is the kavanah (intent) of love.....and of course last week, I made the exact mango salsa which of course was finished off and will have to make a new batch. My very best wishes to you and your family for a Shana Tova... one of health, happiness, peace and new beginnings.

I Love Rosh Hashanah Prep! Sara thank you for all the wonderful videos. I am a Christian but have had a deep love and respect for the Jewish faith since I was a nurse at B'nai B'rith Beber camp in summer 1982. I love your videos and the glimpse into Jewish orthodox life. You are so open and watching you is like listening to a friend. There is so much darkness in the world. I believe you are shining you light and giving others hope and faith. I hope that this is the correct way to thank you. Hakarat Ha'tov.

Amazing dishes, I always seem to learn a new keeper recipe. My great grandson is gluten free and your meatball recipe looks wonderful. I cannot add eggs but we have a gluten free egg substitute. I haven’t had veal since I was little. Or in a spaghetti sauce pounded and rolled with dried surano ham and provolone. Rosh Hashana is a wonderful holiday. We have a lot of orthodox move into Coral Springs Florida. I was at Starbucks and two gentlemen came out and blew the shofar, it was at that moment I felt a connection with God. It was beautiful. God bless
