Question please: you need to keep light off during your Shabbat? Or is this so it comes on automatically and turn off?😊❤ would love the video on blessing the glass.😊
@elisabethm9655 Жыл бұрын
@@vnickcolvin4971 it’s not that the light must be kept off, only that the flow of electricity is neither actively stopped nor started by a Jew on Shabbat. It relates to the prohibition from the Torah to neither kindle, nor extinguish a fire on/ the sabbath. After the invention of the lightbulb, it was determined that the burning filament of the bulb is a form of fire and the generating of light is an act of ‘kindling’. Simply shading an already lit bulb however, is different than turning it off and is permitted. The opaque shade from the design of Shabbos lamps meets the requirements, as does the invention of the shabbulb. People also use electromechanical and electronic timers that are preset before Shabbat to turn lights and other electric items off and on. I hope this helps.
@user-xd6nc6rg7b Жыл бұрын

I LOVE MIRACLES, Sara, and everything about this video. I could spend HOURS in that store and yes, if you need a new wine carafe for Shabbat, do get that beautiful one! So glad to hear your sweet voice again, Sara!

I love miracles and the best one is that Sara is back with such lovely excursions. The cookbooks, beautiful dishes and glassware was a favorite and YES treat yourself to that beautiful decanter. It would be as if all of us would be with you when you use it, like a Love Blessing.

Everything was so nice and I love those cookbooks. I come from a large Christian family from my mothers and fathers side of the family. We’re Mexican-American. It’s wonderful to be around my big family. We all cook together, and spend special holidays together. The ladies in my family set the tables with fine linen, and yes, even the plastic table cover! And pretty center pieces. When we all come to the table, we hold hands and someone will say a prayer before we eat. There’s always pretty plates, silverware and beautiful drinking glasses. Throughout the years I’ve been married, I accumulated a lot of pretty dishes and glasses and my belated mother-in-law gave me a lot of fine China that use to be her mothers. I couldn’t believe she gave all that to me! I’m so glad my mother taught me how to cook when I was young and taught me how to set the table. My brothers helped, too. And I was happy to cook for my new husband after we got married, he cooks good, too but I don’t mind doing all the cooking, he helps clean up afterwards. We’ll be married 30 years in late September. I really enjoyed your video, thank you for sharing. 😁❤️

I love miracles! Thank you for sharing. I learn so much from you with every video I watch. I am truly sorry that your children ( mentioned in another video) must have guards at their school. It makes me sick. I do not understand people having such hatred or fear that they would take the lives of others or try to hurt someone. The message you give at the end is so touching and means a lot. You are a blessing to the world through your kind education and caring. With love 🩷🌸

This is the first time I’ve come across you. Thank you so much I love you. God bless you may his blessing his wisdom be poured into your home your family, your children and all of his blessings. Now I loved everything that you had showed me in the best thing was everything, lol I just loved everything especially the cutting boards. Those are so beautiful. I’ve never seen one. I’m in Illinois USA. I love miracles. We had a miracle today that one family members God has healed him of cancer. This is not the first time God has healed a family member of our church. He has done it a few times so we are still praying and another brother. These are brothers in Christ. Thank you again my beautiful sister and God.

I love miracles! And I love your channel! I like to visit Jewish bookstores when I see them in any town I’m visiting. I was raised by a Hispanic mother & a Jewish stepfather in Brooklyn NY. I was immersed in two vibrant cultures and I value them both. I celebrate all the holidays including the major Jewish holidays. I inherited Sabbath candles from my step grandmother and has a place of honor in my china cabinet. 🙏❤️🙏Blessings to you, Wanda

@@tama3442 Maybe it's not my place to ask, and I mean no disrespect to the owner of this channel. That being said... @Tama Why did you feel as though itvwas appropriate to push your X'tian Beliefs onto this woman's video when she was teaching us about a special part of her Jewish Religion and Culture. I think that is extremely in poor taste. A real followers of those teachings would not conduct themselves in such a manner. Again, I apologize to the page owner if expressing my feelings on this is out of line .

If you're still out there, I want you to know that I don't know how I stumbled upon your channel, but I'm so glad I did! My husband is an Ashkenazi Jewish man, but he is Reform, not Orthodox. So, while we do follow many Jewish traditions and rules, there are many others that even he doesn't know. I myself grew up Catholic, but I have been fascinated by the Jewish religion since I was a teenager. (This is not why I ended up marrying a Jewish man, that was just a cool coincidence, lol.) In any case, I am in my mid-40s now, and still love learning all I can about Judaism. Your prayers and rituals and traditions are just beautiful to me, and I even love the Hebrew language, and learning new Hebrew words. And, even though this is the first of your videos I've seen, I've already learned a lot from you! For example, I knew about not being able to turn electrical appliances/switches on or off during Shabbat. But I never knew Shabbat lamps were a thing. Now I do, and I think they're so cool. And also, I immediately Googled the Mikvah Kelim, to find out what it was and why it was used, and in doing so I learned about another beautiful ritual! I also agree with the other commentors, your kitchenware, the glasses and plates and platters, are some of the most beautiful I've ever seen! I am definitely subscribing, and will be back for more, again and again! I'm really glad you're here. Thank you for sharing yourself with us, and teaching the world. I believe that from understanding comes acceptance, and from acceptance comes love. Maybe if we were all open to teaching each other, and learning from each other, we could all find a way to live in harmony. Bravo to you, for doing your part. Mazel tov, Sarah! PS-I also learned the word 'frum', lol. Thank you for teaching me, and sorry this was so long, lol. PPS-Now I'm craving rugelach, lol! Chocolate chip, mmm!! 😂 #ILoveMiracles

Thank you for sharing, and teaching us about your way of life. I’m an atheist, but that cooking ware store is one of the best I’ve seen-so so many kinds of plates, and so many fancy ones! The shelf of Bundt pans also caught my eye-I could tell those were the good ones, super heavy metal so they’ll cook evenly, and the most gorgeous designs!! Makes me want another Bundt pan! I of course don’t *need* utensils in different colours like y’all do, but I’m so very very pleased they exist for all of us because-I love colour! I think we should all have more colour in our lives when we can.

I love miracles! I'm so pleased you are back...I learn so much from you and you also reminded me of using plastic plates in Canada when I also studied there! I love all the varieties of plates, and more decorative items so people can express their personal taste/selves in their kitchenware while also observing Kosher laws! Thank you for being you and sharing your knowledge.

Sarah I am so sorry about your channel troubles and so glad to see you back. I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day. This video os wonderful and I do love miracles. It is a good thing I am not Jewish because seeing all the beautiful items in the store, I mentally bought them all. Now with what abd where to put them all...well that is not a problem for a pretend shopper! Hugs and thank you again for a lovely video.

Squee!!!! I'm so excited!! I must remember to make it to the premier :D My guess for the things you'll only find at a Jewish kitchenware store are stickers to label the meat & dairy cabinets, silicone scrubby sponges, really large pots for kashering things with boiling water, and color coded everything (tongs, spatulas, etc) to distinguish between meat & dairy. The large pots and the scrubby sponges are of course available in non-Jewish stores, but I'm guessing that there's a much better selection of them at a Jewish kitchenware store.

I never realized I have Orthodox Jewish people to thank for being able to buy kitchen utensils in fun colors! I love green and there's probably no other way companies would make so many different colors if there wasn't a pressing need for it.

You are the first person I have seen mention disposable tableware without judgement or a tone of "but you should REALLY save up for Actual Dishes". As a disabled gentile hoping to convert, that means a lot to me. Thank you for this tour, everything was so beautiful and functional, and now I want to try those challah baking molds. ❤ I believe in miracles :3
