When he talks about hearing voices , I was never sure if he meant literally, but I think he does literally hear voices

Idk, I am just guessing, but you know all the mouth wiping he did? Drooling is a side effect of some anti-hallucinagenic medications. But idk him.

Really odd how he describes those years after he quit as "fun". He was a skeleton who was shooting up heroin constantly and was living in squalor. The planes of dimensions he's talking about was him being high as a kite. He used to hallucinate full-on conversations with people who weren't there. People from the outside who saw him during this period of time were extremely concerned about him. He was spiraling down a very dark path. By some miracle, he survived this period and was able to recover from a severe heroin addiction. Maybe it was "fun" for him because he enjoyed doing the drugs and had not reached a "rock bottom" point in his life. He was just having fun being a drug addict. But from the outside, people knew it was only a matter of time before he was dead. Interesting perspective that he still thinks of this time as "fun", because when fans see videos of him during that point in his life, it's horrifying to watch.

He's not necessarily talking abiut those yeats, iirc after 94 he went to rehab and only rejoined in 98 so might be these times and he's not even mentioning those hardcore years. Or maybe that's inckuded in the sadness he mentioned

@@Wick3DSteely I've heard him talk before specifically about those years he was on drugs and how enlightening it was and how he was never afraid of dying and that he felt he could stop any time he wanted. But he kept going because he liked it. So this isn't the first time he's talked about really enjoying that time in his life. Which to an outsider sounds crazy.

it's interesting, at the very least, that JF said that this time was fun. the guy almost died and was saved in a very deplorable state by flea and Anthony. I really like Niandra and SFSYH but I don't know...

Yeah I feel the same way. Nearly killing yourself with heroin, having your house burn down, losing most of the stuff you have, crapping your own pants and so on doesn't sound like fun to me.

I don't like Niandra and SFTSYH. It really shows how John was depressed and not well. Altough I respect his art, that's not my cup of tea, really far from that. From 2000s on I enjoy and appreciate all Jonh's solo album and his honesty. The song "Regret" is absollutely amazing, so direct, so meaningful.
