Frusciante has his own distinct style and made BSSM and Californication what they are. I love these albums. But for the last 20 years he is just repeating himself, I think. Hendrix was a wizard, a virtuoso, a different league.

Beautifully said by Flea. When Hillel Slovak died the band was supposed to die and that’s the honest to god truth. They never laid down. John brought them together, he is the quintessential part of this band that glues everything together. Without him we don’t the music we know and love today. I don't know what it is to be in a band like that...but man, I hate how there aren't as many bands around anymore :S. If I can make a wish for the new year it's to find other bandmates, be the best bandmate I can possibly be, and have as much fun playing and sharing music that matters to us as... and basically just have a great time with people I care about. My girlfriend and I have been together for over 10 years. My ex and I stayed together for something like 7 years...and yet, the relationship I crave the most is the one I shared with my former bandmates when things were looking good.
