Soldier here, I've seen so many soldiers like this. They're not disciplined while they're in either, complain they don't make enough money while door dashing every meal, stay in the barracks every weekend and make everyone uncomfortable or mad. They find all the right words to say to fake a disability claim to the VA. He very likely barely made it through by meeting the bare minimum standard and did nothing but drag the soldiers around him down. To make ot very clear with what he saod his income was he was lower enlisted, so he had access to free food. He also like every soldier has access to free financial advisors and multiple free services that would have helped with his addiction. He was handed everything

I have severe Narcolepsy with Cataplexy (+ several other things) and I'm grateful as hell that my boyfriend makes my peanut butter toast in the morning and cooks.
