FS/BB Mage Build (light) | Outpost Rush 1vX and Brawling | New World

Just a short video with a couple of fun fights I had recently where I got swamped by people and had to fight for my life.

what gem are you using in this patch in the FS

If you're using an unload spec a pristine ruby is best or an ignited runeglass one, and if you're using double down then use either ignited opal or ignited onyx. All the gems are quite similar in power currently so personal preference is okay too. Bb took a pretty big nerf overall from the gem nerf with int builds but it's still good.

What about the shirking heals nerf?

It can still work for ranged light dps since you skirmish so much, but you don't need to build your gear around at all anymore after the nerfs, it's optional. For next season elemental aversion will be a big priority on all gear though.

Vigor and invig are pretty good due to everyone playing into disease now, I think melee players get more value from it than ranged dps do. If you were a dex player fighting another dex player it has great value too, but as a mage it doesn't matter as much with most of the situations you get into currently. I'd say if you weren't considering vigor, you'd be considering fire harnessing. So choose whatever you prefer between the two. Both are good choices now and in season 4.@@dexarina2497

in season 4 you won't be using any conversion gems on firestaff, once they nerf t2 gems it'll be back to running normal conditional ones. Haven't tested which one is bis post opal nerf yet. For BB you can still run a conversion gem on it but I think it's likely using a normal conditional one will be better even if you have fire harnessing due to it removing double scaling if you use a conversion gem. So items like the greatsword/rapier/blunderbuss/spear all suffer using conversion gems since they only gain from int instead of their dual stat scaling.@@dexarina2497
