No matter where you go people are people with the capacity for good and evil. I have been treated as less than human in Russia and as family by strangers, but I have also had both experiences in America. There is something to the idea that when a society rejects norms of human sanctity and decency, there is a rot which spreads like a plague. But each person in that society, whether they realize it or not, has a choice. This is what we face in America today, will we be a country with just balls or one with heart as well?

in some countries, it's interpreted as public space if you have a door that is open to the public for customers. in Finland, photography is allowed in private shops, but the owner always has the right to choose his customers. therefore, the photographer may be asked to leave. but he can't ask you to delete whatever you filmed, or ask to see it, and it's lawful to film, and he can't ask you to stop filming, just throw you out. and you don't have to tell the police what you filmed, show the police what you filmed, and you don't have to delete it even if the police ask you to delete it. police officers may be photographed in a public place. they just sometimes here get agitated about it and make illegal orders, like telling you to stop filming, and then they get fines in court to pay you. - while so, there are added restrictions here, if you film _other_ people _in the middle of a moment with police or medics,_ then you may be violating their privacy if you film _and_ publicize it and dont have their explicit permission to publicize it. if you don't publicize it, then filming is fine, you are not violating their privacy. while so, a police officer is in a public place in a public office, and filming is restricted only in exceptional circumstances. sometimes cops make mistakes over what is "exceptional circumstance" and what is not. sometimes its " ...which must be assessed separately from the dissemination of the resulting material", like when some outsiders films you when you blow into police alcohol meter and it shows you are drunk. if he publicizes that without your permission, that can be invading privacy, even if on public setting. but that is only _if_ he publicizes it. filming is still allowed. police does not have direct power to prohibit filming in that situation. therefore it depends if he is streaming it live, or not, if the filming is a crime, or not. and filming/voice recording the things that involve yourself with an official is always legal, and you can publicize when it involves yourself, then it has your permission, and you can violate your own privacy as much as you want.

The Lincoln Navigator is more than twice the cost of ordering one here in the US. The top of the line Lincoln SUV can be had for $74,000. A 2024 Dodge pickup base price here is $44,000 to $54,000 and you can pick out your options, color, etc. Dealers here are having to offer discounts ($7500) to move the pickups, so they are fairly cheap and available. I do love the look and power of the Dodge Ram cars, really sporty. There is a lot of disruption in the car markets as people ride the fence on whether to move into the Electric Vehicle era. Personally, I like the idea of an electric vehicle due to better torque but am waiting for the Solid State Batteries to come on line, providing much greater range and quicker charging.

Technically, you are not in a public space inside the dealership. In the UK, where I live, filming inside a shop without permission can be problematic, as store owners have the right to protect their customers' privacy, safeguard their private property. Unauthorized filming could lead to legal problems. In Russia now, I can imagine people being very sensitive about being seen buying expensive foreign cars.

@pauliewalnuts2409 ай бұрын
It depends on russian land ownership laws. He does use this excuse often and it seems to work lol. In china for example, you don't actually own property, it's rented for a certain term of years. Maybe all land in russia is owned by the government in a similar way. Public space could also apply to anywhere the public is able to go, like in a store. I dont kno. In the US, public space is like the street, sidewalk, a park, basically outside. So UK and US laws sound similar.

As Ivan has previously explained the Russian Constitution allows anyone to film anywhere that the public has access. Permission is not required. This includes shopping malls, shops, restaurants and car dealers showrooms. Ivan is well known for exercising this right. It is a freedom they have in Russia that is not available in most other parts of the world. Long may it continue.
@markanderson37409 ай бұрын
@@davidhartwell4826 Less of a freedom and more of an easy excuse for intrusive government surveillance. Russians expect to be filmed and face scanned every second they are in public, certainly in the cities. If you are filming and witness any corruption or abuse your life is at risk, and since Siberia always has room for another warm body, why would they care what accidents happen to you. At the heart of it, that is the difference. Our governments in the west, whatever their flaws, don't keep the population living in fear.

Ivan, are you sure that you are allowed by law to film on private property regardless if the owner of that property doesn't want you to? In the US, if the owner does not want you to record videos on their property you can be arrested for trespassing.

Those prices are 50-100% higher than in the US. Those vehicles appear to be maxxed out with luxury options. If they weren’t maxxed out then the average mid-level version would a third or a quarter that price in the US.

In the U.S. we are all complaining about the high price of trucks and SUVs. A well-optioned pickup truck might cost $70,000 or more. Many of us remember when these were considered work vehicles, and you could get them for closer to $30,000 in the 1990s.
