Note to all....ALL mechanics (hobby and otherwise) when you pick up your parts.. ALWAYS.... ALWAYS look on the PART to assure it is CORRECT!!! DO NOT just LOOK AT THE BOX and say "ok..that's the right one.. ESPECIALLY in these days of on line parts ordering!!! Steve is absolutely correct to assure the number ON THE PART is correct.. One number has cost me 2 days and 1200 miles of driving to get the right part. Lesson over!!!

I always like to see repairs done by the book.unfortunatly if you don't have the skill required or a shop to facilitate proper repairs you are left with taking the tractor to a dealer or relying on shops that think a hammer is the olny tool you need to install seals.great job steve.

Hi. This is exactly why I looked up rear main seal installs. My mechanic showed me today. There's a leak coming from in back of flywheel. And he installed a new rear main seal. So now. I need to have him remove flywheel to see if it is his screw up. Did he use right seal. Did he use compression tool or a hammer. This sucks. ..now alll of a sudden the intercooler is leaking. I'm like what's happening here. Wow. I'm not happy. Monday will be not a good day. Thanks for your tread. Cheers

I'm guessing those holes are to let air in and out as you compress and remove the tool. Don't forget it's a seal - it'd be like a compressor without air holes.

Have a 1930's Marvel draw cut power hack saw with the original motor that cuts true.Paid $20.00 for it.
