Don't let the size fool you. The Cat 425 and Cummins 400 were the backbone of this country for many years they had to start making them with more HP to compensate for the added emissions. You had the 425 then when electronics came in the picture the 435 was the engine of choice then the 475. I've been running a 475 many years and I'll tell you Orwell could probably out pull me.
@Got_Your_629 күн бұрын
wasn't the first E model still considered a 3406, 425? I know there was a 435 but I always thought every E model I've driven up to the mid-90s when they were new were still considered a 425. But you know I learn something everyday, and you're right about the emissions killing the engines.
@shawngleason134529 күн бұрын
@Got_Your_6 When they first came out I know it was simply a 425 converted to electronic but was still called a 435 I say that because I had a mechanic once offer to change it to the 425 but after that first year they made other changes to it couldn't be converted
@joescheller668015 күн бұрын
Run three emodel cats that put out way over 425. Set to run 550 but they will out pull any twinn turbo cat on the road and get dam good fuel milage

That bridge over the Ohio River to your left south bound I-24 about a mile up river is one of the most dangerous bridges in the country. It’s a steal grate bridge. You can look it up man it’s freaky. My wife and I got off 24 north one time and went over that bridge. It is loud it is close quarters 2 lane pulls you around and barely have enough room to get two cars side by side on that bridge. Cool vid. I’m headed down to Ocala Dec 26 from Chicago. Take 57 to 24 to 75. Love that drive!!!

Back in 2002 57 north. Right there on the scale "DRIVER SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE AND LOCK IT IN GEAR" I was just a wee bit heavy. Moorebark tub grinder. Walked in with everything. Looks at permit, looks at scale weights, looks at me. rinse and repeat, then again. Picks up pen signs, stamps, dates, times it and says " I hate it when your legal" Go on get out of here! 103,560 on a scale ticket. confirming how much I was under I went up to the T?A and added 100 Gal to truck and 100 Gal to grinder. Dropped it in K.C, Mo. from S. C.
