What a treat to see an FSD video from here in Montreal! I recognized the first part of the drive, but past Lacordaire ... Well, I did go to Galeries d'Anjou a few times, but that's it. I live a bit West, in Notre Dame de Grace. Liked and subscribed. Looking forward to real snow videos. People worry about how Tesla FSD does in snow, but I know it does better than most humans; I've seen videos of testing done in Alaska long time ago, when FSD was some single digit version, and it was an ace in snow already.

@@gabrielgingras814 this is what he said… but Elon’s reality is different than anyone else. I don’t mind about unsupervised FSD… I just want it to drive like a human and not try to run red lights, brake a green lights or wait forever when the light turns green.

@zadigre But it is because you fully paid for FSD that you will have a computer replacement in your car free of charge, if they can't achieve unsupervised on HW3. My grandma had a free retrofit to the HW3 computer on her 2018 Model 3 in 2020. I think her car will need another.

FSD 13 has a feature that if other teslas experience a traffic or an accident ahead, it will inform other teslas and if your car has been informed, it will change navigation and take you to a different route while avoiding the incident ahead and it also has speed profile which are chill,standard and hurry, so if you are in hurry, the car will usually go faster than the speed limit
@b-rareАй бұрын
I didn’t even know they had that, but I’ve already thought about this and the true way to really make this thing work is for ALL CARS to have a chip that lets them read and interact with each other . This way there would never be accidents or traffic . Even if you want gas car, that’s fine, but they should implement chips in gas cars as well so they can all talk together on the road . That’s how this thing becomes a reality . I’m a tesla investor for the robots but this full self driving did shock me it looks clean and reliable . But there are still times where human needs to be there so it’s not entirely there yet maybe another 3-5 years and like I said if all cars can get chips then it’ll speed the process up with this passing it for safety etc .
@khanisbrown6424Ай бұрын
@b-rare you said 3-5 years?? I'm pretty sure by the end of 2025 FSD will be elite, we just need v14 and it is solved, it is already pretty solved to me. I'm very confident that if I activate fsd at my home and sleep in my car , I will reach my destination alive with no complications, right now FSD can do that

@martincossette7420 auto parking is planned to come to fsd v13 some time in the future update but sometimes the car still parks you in a parking spot doesn't it??
@martincossette7420Ай бұрын
@khanisbrown6424 Yes, the end-of-trip *might* have the car park (or attempt to park) itself, depending on the situation, as part of the model's inherent behavior. However, I don't believe the same reasoning can be applied to the implementation and use of inter-fleet communication. That functionality will need to be activated by Tesla and I would assume mentioned verbatim in the release notes.

20:40 *_"It's gonna be better than a human driver when it knows every lane"_* No, you got that completely wrong; it's going to be better than a human driver, and yet it will not "know" a single lane. FSD's AI is not a map memorization algorithm. Even if you drive the same route every day to work, FSD is seeing it as if for the first time, every time. "Detailed maps" is the philosophy the competitors of Tesla followed, which Elon criticized harshly. To Elon, knowing the map is a crutch. His point is that a good driver doesn't need to be familiar with a route to drive well; and so FSD aims to be such a good driver that it does not need to know any lanes. And I very slightly disagree with him, but I'm just giving you his idea as it is.
@FSDCanadaMtlАй бұрын
Agree with adapting to what you see on the go. But every commuter knows their drive and best ways to handle that specific drive. Some lanes are handled better with a preset mind that can still adapt. We shall see…
@privateerburrowsАй бұрын
@@FSDCanadaMtl I agree with you, and that's why I said I slightly disagree with Elon. In more detail, I think at the very least, the fleet of cars can gather data to flesh out the low detail maps the route planner has. Namely, it should add to every road how many lanes in each direction, which lanes are left-turn only, right turn only, straight only, or combinations. This would be very useful when roads are covered with snow and markings cannot be seen. It could also record max legal speed in every road, so that as it turns into a road or highway it doesn't have to make assumptions before it sees a speed sign. My suspicion is that Elon knows what we are talking about, but will nontheless continue to reject the idea of any sort of detailed mapping, for the purpose of letting the algorithm evolve to perfection without using any crutches; and maybe eventually there will be road mapping. But don't expect such thing any time soon. For now, Elon is adamantly opposed to dependence on any kind of knowledge of the map.

FSD 13.2.2 is very good with some flaws and regressions. -starts to go on a Red light after stopping for 10 seconds -lane drifts a lot local and highway even with vehicles beside it -drives way too close to the curbs time to time -tends to speed enough to warrant a traffic ticket, even with the max speed set at 0% off set. Chill mode is too slow causing tail gaters -wipers are better but at times wipes for no apparent reason. Also dry wipes suck and it should use washer fluid sparingly -wrong lane choice, late lane changes -hurry mode and ridiculous levels of lane changing making it more dangerous in especially bad weather -does not proceed on a stop sign with flashing red light -changes lanes on solid white line sometimes -sometimes tries to make the light on a late yellow -does not make a right turn after stopping and sometimes goes on a no right turn on red -sometimes totally ignore navigation route lol These are some of the problems Currently on FSD 13.2.2

But how does it handle slippery roads and skidding? As a human, I will test my tire grip when I first start driving so I know what my limits are and what my traction is. I didn't see any indication that it knows that it's driving in snowy/icy conditions. And, it appears to me that it's not really giving some more space to the car in front. There's nothing FSFD could do if it starts to brake and the tires start skidding. The only prudent solution in those driving conditions would be to give more room in front to allow for more time to determine suitable options to avoid a collision. I remember one time years ago, the roads were so icy that the slightest tap on the break and my tires started to slip. Luckily it was very late at night with no one anywhere near me. I doubt current FSD versions, including v13, would be able to handle that scenario without a crash.

after seeing this, this is my thoughts.....in the near future, all cars are going to be required to have full self driving , whether the car is electric or gas. That means companies like Ford and GM will have to license this technology from Tesla. Full self driving is going to be the new seat belt. It will be illegal to drive without having it because of safety. Thats my opinion, im sure it can take 10+ years for that to take effect, but after seeing this video it only makes sense to put it into law that going forward any new cars built have to have FSD included and people will 'have to' keep fsd turned on . Cop pulls you over, finds out you had fsd turned off, its a ticket (just like if you not wearing seat belt). Thoughts on this? Cause the future cannot be all electric cars, there still will be gas cars, but i can also see price of gas going down cause less demand , so gas and electric will be close in energy cost per month...like it will end up being you buy an electric car and it costs you 100 bucks a month (for example) for electricity, and the gas car might be $120 bucks or something (very similar).
@FSDCanadaMtlАй бұрын
I dont think it will be required, but having a drivers licence and a car in the future will be a luxury most likely. So a lot of people are gonna be priced out of it. Just like horse riding. Brands like lambo, porsche etc, will be selling their premium cars and there will be a market for it

But if you don’t suffer from major mental retardation and have been driving for over 3 years , it def drives odd and dangerously at times. Who knows 🤷♂️ let’s see.

Haha so far it seems divisive, but I genuinely prefer FSD over driving. I just take over when needed and enjoy the ride the rest of the time. Not ready for unsupervised yet, but every update is getting us closer and closer. Cheers!

It had “Break enabled” setting on at first. Which confused me, i thought they added something new to just start it with the brakes. But then realized its Press and Hold THEN brake haha. Anyways.

@@FSDCanadaMtl you use it for daily ride?

@@pranshukrishna5105a friend of mine uses it almost exclusively here in Halifax in his Y. $11k is a big ask but I am considering it because of how it handles rush hour which is just getting worse and worse here because we have 3 roads for 300k drivers.

You said "can't complain" but if you were forced to have your hand on the wheel for most of it, then it sounds like a complaint to me.

His hand on the wheel “sounds like a complaint” to you? Your post sounds like baby mental gymnastics to me.
@TechridrАй бұрын
@@jadusiv Hand on the wheel = pointless. I didn't do that even on V12.x. The point of these videos is to let it drive. Not take over out of fear or non-trust. It becomes pointless
@jimalden9376Ай бұрын
@@jadusiv I have to agree it's like a complaint. I've seen countless testing videos of FSD. When you have to keep holding it for corrections, it pretty much means FAIL. How could that not be the same as a major complaint?
@KaipisoАй бұрын
When you are testing a new version in new conditions, it is reasonable being careful. It does not matter if it is a version 13 or 27. You gain confidence over time, not 'just because'. You are risking your possession and life here. So don't be silly and expect for people to be careless because you want them to.

First time out with a version….. I’d have my hands pretty dam close to the wheel!

Lack of auto camera cleaning feels like the biggest long term hardware issue imo. Robotaxi customers will not want to clean cameras before a ride 🥲
