This video showcases FSiPanel - a neat peace of software that will allow you to place your aircraft (of which there are a large number of fixed-wing types) on an authentic arrival and/or approach, ready for landing - allowing you to focus more on the sim practice, than the initial trip from an airport some way away to reach the STAR (Standard Arrival Point). I have also tested this with the H145 by HPG - and have found that it placed the heli in the sky effortlessly, and with a little care in setting the AP values, I was able to fly a course into Geneva Airport, intersecting the ILS. This software saves hours of time - and with the Fenix, allows you to save the aircraft with the FMS loaded at the date. (I do believe it will allow you to take a snapshot of other aircraft mid-flight - so you can return to this state - but I have yet to test this fully.
There are a huge number of options with this software. If you can afford it, I would reccomend the advanced edition. I have still futher testing to do but the initial signs are encouraging. As you can see, this review/workthrough highlihgts how FSPanel helps you being together the information from other navigation services/flight planning apps to allow you to situate your aircraft where you want it.
