Matching the perspective in a photograph is a bear in any 3D software; Blender 3d users have the advantage of FSPY. fSpy produces results for any 3d soft but with as a Blender add on, needed measurements Import with a click.
This is invaluable for UV Project and developing models or particle effects that match the vanishing points of actual photographs. fSpy is formerly, BLAM, retired in 2018.
New microphone didn't provide a consistent level so I'm sorry for the volume tinkering you'll have to do!

Thanks! Honestly I wasn't able to align a camera in Blender to a perspective image even once. It drove me crazy AND was a waste of time in the end. FSPY got it right in a few minutes and on first try. What a relief.

good way of explaining things. not in a hurry. not too slow. clear articulation. subscribed. you deserve more subscribers. i wonder if you'd like to add the measurement thingy also. this is not the first tut on fspy i've watched. but this clearly has some good points.

Actually you can also create reference image and parent (link) it to the camera. So the image always perpendicular to the camera view. And then press "N" - View - Camera to View, so you rotate the camera like in perspective mode, and adjust the view manually.

The models with the material projected on to them from the camera's povvia fSpy's trick behavior would then fail. This isn't just a reference image. It's material used potentially by multiple objects.

Great attitude and I'm feeling the same enthusiasm on my end! I haven't made a tutorial in a while, but FSPY and GSCATTER and MTREE have renewed my love for Blender! Good luck and have fun

it's a great tool if you have good references (straight orthogonal lines) in the image you are working on...otherwise I think it's much better to go "by eye"

It calculates curvature and distortions or can get them plugged in if you find the details from the camera maker. Real cameras won't produce straight, orthogonal lines. That's the value of this tool!

@@HelloHiHola I didn't know it calculated curvature and distorsions too, but I was referring to the starting image...right now I am preparing a render of a mountain house that must be inserted in the context where it will be built...there is a rock made house, grass, rocks and snow....furthermore, the terrain is (obviously as it is on a mountain) inclined. Even if the existing house has some sort of reference, I could not properly set my blender camera through fspy. So I refreshed a little bit my perspective theory knowledge and, with the help of photoshop, I set some referenfe lines and points on the base image. With those settled I eventually could find an acceptable camera setting. On the other hand, when I did the same job in a different context (most like that in the video) where you have perfect and clear reference lines, fspy revealed a really great tool

What about apply scale? Then maybe no distortion?

No matter what I do I cannot add it on in preferences. I click the right zip file and it just doesn’t show up in my add ons at all
@HelloHiHola
@HelloHiHola 4 жыл бұрын
There are two zip files. One is the standalone application and the other is a blender import addon. However there are TWO versions of the import addon. Are you positive you're using the right import add on for your blender version? Then you'll Fspy elsewhere, save the file and File > import Fspy into Blender.
