I'm sorry, but getting around Japan is waaaay easier than these guys make it out to be. Google maps is your friend, and a little pre-planning by any traveler is kinda expected, especially if you are planing on doing these kind of shoots.

Americans complaining they have to walk 30mins to get somewhere. Then being ignorant to what the rules are, many places don’t allow tripods. And then expecting an Uber to just turn up and take them back to their hotel. 3 things when going to a foreign country …. Research , research , research .

Yeah a lot of parks close for an hour or 2 at different points to clean, and the tripod thing... they've had issues in temples and shrines particularly with over tourism and people.getting in the way with tripods so a decent number of temples and shrines started banning them 🤷🏻‍♂️

Maybe for Elia's next series of videos, he can show Lee how to prepare for, and execute, a trip in a foreign country. 😆

Yeah, I'm a bit surprised. But I'm certain tutorial is much better than Lee's preparedness to encounter Japan 😎 In fact traveling in Japan is very easy.

Really enjoying this series of you guys travelling in Japan ^^ Always fun to see how other people experience the country where I live. Next time when you come here and you could use a translator/guide, feel free to ask me ;p

That taxi driver experience is so funny. Now imagine booking a five day tour through Java with a driver who's supposed to know his way around and you end up navigating the whole time + he doesn't know how to use google maps ;-) I thought I could nap through the long drives, but in the end I was constantly navigating

Tripods..with modern digi SLRS they are just a waste of time. If you are really stuck use a monopod. Or a small bean bag and stack of rocks .A lot of tripod use is a habit.

I had to laugh at some of these adventures. This is how I also remember my Japan trip ages ago: fascinating and sometimes simply so annoying... Got yelled at me as well. Maybe its the result of the (in)famous cultural differences.

this style of photography is so outdated. please tell me what's so groundbreaking about a landscape we've all seen. it's like they suck the life right out of the photograph. try something new, or stay outdated, it was cool maybe about 13 years ago. there's so many new and younger photographers that are bringing something new to the scene. it's like these guys are only obsessed with the technical parts of photography and not about the art or creative expression. sad and seen so many times. push harder. these look like the pictures you take to test your camera out for the first time lol.

If you think the selective enforcement is bad now, wait for all of us to go to a digital currency where cash is no longer accepted. Then the issue won't be having to have people decide what pics you can or can't take, the issue will be your "payment" won't be allowed to be processed at all. You, your immediate friends, money from your business, etc., can all be "blacklisted" so you can't even buy the pass that allows you on the property.
