And the have had issues getting off the field even before they are being gassed due to the poor offense. So it was just a complete negative feedback loop. Can't get off the field. Offense puts them right back on. Can't get a stop quickly. Repeat. Now they are tired and for sure can't get off the field. At least with Brock i expect our offense will start putting it together as they get more experience. Hopefully they get it right for Duke and go into the miami game clicking.

Massive coaching changes should not be a debate, it should be a reality when the season is over. The program should already be reaching out. It needs a totally new staff. The OL looks to be totally out of shape. A new strength and conditioning coach is need as well. The program needs total refresh from top to bottom. I don't think they will fire Mike, but sure does not stop from calling him and saying we want a new coaching staff. Plus, they need to bring guys who have good track record of recruiting.

Mike Norvell needs to have a public conference where he answers to every FSU stakeholder from students to mega boosters precisely WHY: He brought in a portal QB wholly incompatible with the system. He held on to DJ so long and is doing the same with other under performing seniors at every position. He held on to the exact same coaching staff, even though nobody wanted them. He insists on being play caller, despite reality proving he shouldn't be. He and his staff can't constitently recruit or coach we'll be it from highschool or the portal. In closing, These were not instant mistakes like dropping a glass (looking at you Kyle Morlock), he had to willfully make these choices and stick with them over a sustained period of time. If I didn't know better I would say we made him to expensive to fire and he rewarded us by wrecking our program for years to come.

There is a lot to place blame on. Players not playing up to their potential, there's no pride or team unity, and the coaching aren't preparing these players, nor are the coaches recruiting like they should. The recruiting part is hard these days with NIL, kids are going to where the money is, But, there was so much hype in the off season after last year on this team, and after 2 winning seasons (10-3 and 13-1). If you would have told me at the start of the season FSU would be 1-5 halfway into the season, I would have laughed in your face. This team is a joke, Norvell and his staff should be on the hot seat, but after renewing Norvell's contract last year we are stuck with him for at least a couple more years. Norvell is starting to look like Taggart, having a deer in headlights look on his face on the sidelines. I'd take Billy Napier right now over Norvell.

The past 2 games FSU's defense came across the same scenario with momentum hanging in the balance...Both games, both times FSU's defense held on 1st down, then 2nd down, and then on 3rd (which in both cases our D alignment looked good for 3rd down) and then FSU calls a timeoit...And both times coming out of the timeouts SMU and Clemson picked up the 1st down, recapture momentum and then run away on the scoreboard. When the game reaches its precipice FSU coaching staff gets overwhelmed by the moment...Got the opponents on the ropes and for whatever reason they stop swinging and the after results speak for itself. Gotta stop the run up the middle, QB runs and quit playing so far off in coverage on 3rd downs. Just letting teams catch wide open passes at the 1st down marker is beyond frustrating to watch...and still no one on staff seems to recognize. Even if there is a talent drop, all players should still be in position.

Lastly, they can’t recruit trench players. Florida and Miami are building both their lines. Novell can’t figure out how to keep recruits from leaving.

There are a multitude of issues that this team in particular has. Our offense is inept. And imo the play calling has been atrocious at times. Qb sneak on 4th....case in point. Another thing I have noticed from time to time is a lack of effort from a few players. And players that just aren't as good as they were billed. I won't name names. They are kids. But I also think having some money in the pocket has made a couple of these boys less hungry. There is one player that looks like he is chilling a lot of the time. And he hasn't produced nearly what was expected. So NIL...not that I'm against it, but it could be hard to motivate a kid with 6 figures in their bank account from time to time. Also...some.acouting hasn't been amazing imo. And that's on the transfer portal as well. Also...this team has absolutely no leader. DJ is quiet and isn't really a motivator and no one has filled that void. No one. This year looks so much like Willie's years. And we all know that was a torn locker room. So I don't know how you fix this. This goes beyond DJ...I would also mention that maybe our boosters and administration at times are part of the problem. They are the only thing consistent about the last decade. So maybe it's just all of it crashing down at once. As far as recovery though....I'm not sure it happens. At some.point norvell is going to wear down and find a different challenge and we will be here having the same issues the last three coaches ended up with because maybe Bobby was the only real difference. The fact he was the general of the whole ship back then. Now there are a million different people wanting their hands on the decisions and the accolades.

All the coaches lucked into a phenomenal team last year, which made them look good and if it wasn’t for Jordan Travis and his heart to win, we would’ve lost some games even with that team and we had close calls with an explosive offense and a good defense so I think it shows you that our coaching is mediocre at best.

He needs to get great recruiters on staff. When he's had the players, his play calling was fine. The problem with the WR screens is that the blocking by the WRs has been atrocious. There have been times where the play would've worked if the WRs blocking would've just gotten in the way of the defender. Most of the time they've whiffed on blocking the defender altogether or were pushed back into the receiver and that blows up the play.

I believe there are so many moving pieces that to find what works and why it works is going to be a work in progress. Perhaps Mike needs to assess the problems and what needs to be done to correct but I do not believe the village people should be trying to kill Frankenstein just because it doesn’t seem to fit. Mike, as a fan since before Bobby showed up, it is your program and the people that brought you here might be interested in your analysis after the season, but I am sure whatever you feel best you will have their backing as well.
