Hello, how did you zoom in and out while you are moving through the cockpit? Thanks and nice video.
@RidiculousFlightSimmers10 жыл бұрын
Hi Jaris, thanks for checking out my video. To zoom I just hold the space bar and as I look around with the mouse I use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out. I believe this is set up by default in FSX.

New to flight simming (FSX) and I just got this plane. How do you set up your desired autopilot IAS? I assume it could be done through the FMS, but I'd rather know the manual input method. Thanks in advance, and great video!
@RidiculousFlightSimmers8 жыл бұрын
Well, I'm not sure in flight sim how it activates. In the real 1900 there is a sync button just below the radio push to talk and when the flight director has IAS selected you can just sync it for whatever speed you are currently at. In FSX, I am unsure if this button even works or not, I haven't used my sim in a very long while because ive been busy working. If you figure it out, please let me know and I will share it if anyone else asks. Thanks.

Will do, and thanks for your quick response. I'll check it out!

Just curious, how many 2D panels are there? I know 3d is amazing, but I"ve got a multi monitor set up for training that works really well with 2D panels (If there's at least a few I can drag and drop (you can drag them around, right?) them to my center pedestal monitor). Don't have the nicest graphics card either, I just need super crisp cockpit presentation. 90% of the time I'm in IMC down to mins just to justify not getting a new card :p. Thanks for the help!

There are some 2D items but I don't know very much about them because I never use them. Sorry that I cant offer more help.

hi. can you select a SID or STAR with this kind of FMC from carenado?
@RidiculousFlightSimmers7 жыл бұрын
unclealig I don't think you can, I've tried but I think it's a limitation of the outdated fsx database. I've always had to manually add each waypoint. If you find another way let us know.

Just got yesterday so still figuring it out but much better than fsx
@RidiculousFlightSimmers10 жыл бұрын
I bet... I will look into getting it one of these days.... anything has gotta be better then the fsx ATC... I find vfr fsx is sufficient, but IFR vectors put you into the ground way too often.

+Joshua O'Dell It does work. select gps on your gps...not cdi

I did that and it isn't working.

How to put in sids?
@RidiculousFlightSimmers8 жыл бұрын
I guess that would depend on what waypoints are in the FSX database... most SIDS are pretty straight forward.... climb RWY heading to 5000 for vectors.. I'd suggest use your heading mode and bug for conducting the SID, but like I mentioned before it really depends on the GPS database you have installed in FSX. I know some websites offer an updated GPS database for fsx...I've tried this once before and found many of them not there or not accurate. sorry I couldn't offer more help...thanks for checking out my video.

Thanks for reply. I see that is probz easiest to just go by chart for wp.... Btw how do you get T/D?

Not a fan of VATsim either, I know it is good to be procedurally correct, FSX or Prep3d, but is still a game. I just started using Pro ATC, it now works with P3d. Have been flying the ERJ-145, but it is to big for some of the smaller airports, so I thought I would try the 1900d
@RidiculousFlightSimmers10 жыл бұрын
Kool kool...so how do you like pro ATC? I may have to try it.

I've been struggling with this system and have given up because it keeps doing stupid things at bad moments. Maybe this tutorial will change my mind. This is the worst payware fms I've used so far.

TURBINE DUKE V2 or carenado b1900d can you help me choose
@RidiculousFlightSimmers10 жыл бұрын
Sorry Chris, wish I could help but I don't know what the turbine duke v2 is.... I will say this tho, the 1900 from carenado is worth every penny. Hope that helps.
@james0824599 жыл бұрын
Can't go wrong with either the b1900d or the turbine duke. If in a pinch I had to choose it might be the duke. Love RealAir planes! Carenado as well. Hope you didn't mind my two cents?
@RidiculousFlightSimmers9 жыл бұрын
James Cusson hey man..Thanks for the input... 2 cents is still valuable no matter where it comes from. I will have to try it out sometime.

Try that one and their Lancair Legacy. Both are great planes. Nice videos by the way!

Not a bad video... I take it procedurally you don't care about checklist and such? Do you fly for a VA (virtual airlines)? Obviously you don't fly on VATsim. You may find a VA enjoyable, gives you a goal/mission, something to do. Check out United Virtual, this VA is not very strict so newbies can enjoy. Go to Denver hub. I was looking for a more in depth checklist approach setup. I just got this plane and was looking for a tutorial, this is basic but helpful. thanks
@RidiculousFlightSimmers10 жыл бұрын
Hi Tom, thanks for the suggestion. I'm glad the video was helpful to you at least a little bit. I generally don't bother in FSX to use full check list because it's sooo time consuming.... I am a real instrument rated commercial pilot and in a real plane I strictly adhere to all checklist items. I mostly use FSX for instrument procedure practice and crosswind and emergency training exercises. I've tried Vatsim in the past but found that too many took it too serious so it wasn't for me. FSX is a GREAT tool for training though... it helped me pass my IFR Flight Test big time. Too bad none of that time could be logged.

Funny you say this lol.... Just reading this comment now..5 years later...during this time I went from being a flight school student (when I made this video) to an airline captain flying the real 1900 .... I've now got over 3000 hours flying the real one AND adhering to proper checklists the whole way....when I made the video I had no clue the proper SOP's and checks...but now it's a dissent story...I may share some of my real recorded flights soon. Sorry for taking so long to read your comment.
