The DRM that is on FSX:SE AddOns should not affect the aircraft.cfg file that you need to make the edit on. But... I haven't flown in this sim in sometime so I am not sure.

Thank you for explaining. I had no idea. So now this applies to anything downloaded from the Steam Store-- aircraft, liveries, AND scenery/airports? Out of curiosity, what would happen if I tried to manually install aircraft and/or liveries in the sim objects\airplanes folder myself? Or scenery and airports in the addon scenery folder myself? Would it work, or would it have all sorts of registry errors?

+B3burner It will work however any updates will not be able to install automatically and if you want to uninstall the addon you have to do it manually

Check the model= line and the sim= line to make sure you are referencing the correct ones in the folder.
