In steam what buttons on the keyboard do I push to shut off the engines?

I followed the instructions for placing the two .bgl files in the Flight Simulator X / Addon Scenery / Scenery folder and when I open up the Flight Sim X app and go to Addon Scenery in the free flight section, I do not see anything.... nothing at all. I have installed the FSX Program on my PC Directly. This is a NON-STEAM application. Can you assist me? I need help on this asap. Thank you and have a blessed day Sir!!!

I followed your directions verbatum and I've done this before, but for some reason the aircraft I"m trying to add to steam wont download into flight sim. I purchased an F-14 from ISIS Aviation back in 2012-so before Steam came out. The path on the download is for the regular flight sim X. I went in changed it as you show how to do and it just isnt in the game. Do you have any ideas?

Just go to search Programs x86 and search SimObjects

the path is C:Program Files(x86)/Steam/Steamapps/Common/ FSX/SimObjects/Aircraft and you find the aircraft you want and drop the file in. the final step is you need to edit the Aircraft Config this is a file that stores the data so Flight Simulator and Steam can read it. Side note if you get legacy aircraft you also need to download the panel and points file or you can't control the aircraft or takeoff or dock to a gate. an example is the Opensky CRJ 200 you need to install point files and panels or when you reach a gate you can't dock.

You need to make sure u extract the file, copy the contents to the correct folder (read the read me).. usually most aircraft go under simobjects- airplanes

note some developers don't use the Windows file tree when they pack their planes you need to edit the Aircraft config so the plane is listed in the correct directory. example if your aircraft is an passenger plane you need to type the word Regional Jet or Airliner in the Type Role Box if this box is blank you need to copy it from the Microsoft website. Manufacture is the company who makes the plane the most common mistake is the developer places their name in the manufacture box especially with legacy aircraft.Flight Simulator up to 2000 you can get away with it but in FSX this is wrong. You must use a real manufacture or it won't show up. Another problem is Thumbnail if the thumbnail is missing you need to copy the picture that came with the plane and and paste it in the texture folder and rename it Thumbnail. and a big problem is some developers the classify the aircraft wrong make sure the aircraft type is correct if it not correct you need to change it. One error that is common is the same model error if you have a plane that is the same model merge the file with the default and edit the aircraft config so the models don't have conflicts.
