About cooks always getting the short end of the stick: I've worked as a server as well as in the kitchen and let me tell you, if you've not done both it's kinda impossible to say one is harder than the other. However I found I had it way worse as a server. A) You're the one who actually has to deal with patrons which means taking the blame for everything the cooks, bartenders and bus boys fucked up. B) On the other hand the kitchen staff blame you for any miscommunication on the patron's side. C) Everything that goes wrong is your job to fix, because the cooks have no time: spills, clogged toilets, drunk patrons throwing up ... D) In Germany it is common that chefs and cooks earn way more than servers and that tips get split between serving and kitchen staff. E) As a result of A through D, all the cooks/chefs I've ever worked with always thought they were superior to serving staff and were super full of themselves and dickish/bossy towards the servers.

I preferred the kitchen myself, but I only worked in a fast food kitchen, not a sit down place. I'm not sure how a bad drive thru and crowded inside compares to a busy time at a sit down place.

Did you had a plan to avoid the defense drone shot and successfully hit with the hacking drone or was that pure luck, i always have trouble hacking them on phase 2

Looking at it carefully (and I now learn of this), he disable his hacking so it stops mid-way, causing thr enemy defense to I guess miss or not fire at all, then reactivated it to later reach the systems.

Actually, I tried this and it doesn't work like that. What he actually did was fire the hacking drone, unpowered it, waited ~1 second, re-powered it, and waited for the defense drone to fire a shot, and removed the power quickly again and then immediately repowered it. I guess while it is unpowered, it can't be hit by shots, so toggling it between the two states allows it to dodge the defense drone. Otherwise you have to use the usual firing of 2 projectiles to distract the drone. I tried the method in your comment in my last playthrough and it didn't work, so I resorted to using my weapons to beat down the shield without hacking. The next playthrough I do with hacking, I will give this another shot and try again.

I think it's because causing system damage is more important than raw hull damage. If all critical systems were disabled, then I could see him targeting raw hull.

Late in replying, but what he's doing there is training his crew. By sitting in front of a ship that literally cannot damage him, each hit his shields take and each hit he dodges gives exp to his pilot, shield guy, and engines guy. Getting them leveled up early (as well as not having to worry about their levels later in the run) is important for winning on Hard Mode and *crucial* for winning No Pause on Hard Mode.

Also the crew is needed on doors to stop boarders. Engi is useless in a fight, so it is optimal to have him on the doors.

It's funny how much money nerds spend on computer parts, mice, keyboards, games.. but then they buy a torture device for 50 bucks at Staples to sit on. I spent over 400 on my chair and I love it. The best kind are the ones with no boards under the cushion. Just cords and a pad.
