@@brimoririver6435 In the UK there is zero 'profit' in the NHS, it is entirely publicly funded, and you can only get what you need (sometimes you get less but that's a different thing). You talk about 'the structure of nature' but I expct you are unaware of just how messy nature is. Female is the default sex of all animals, every embryo, from fish to elephants to humans, begins developing as female and will continue to do so, irrespective of genetic markers, unless or until hormones from the mother tell it to do otherwise. If those hormones are irregular, then the embryo will get a mixed message, sometimes it is level of hormone, sometimes it is timing of hormone, and this produces the rather large variation in physical 'biological' sex, such as intersex and trans individuals, as well as cis women with XY genetics.
@88megagirl5 жыл бұрын
mghtymffn honestly same. Not the married with kids part, but the hetero part. I have a lot of friends who are lgbtq and I never really had a great understanding of that t. But with friends who are trans, I wanted to learn more, so I could be more accepting and understanding, because they’re the ones that matter in all of this. The world hasn’t accepted everyone completely yet but hopefully the more we learn the more we will.

@@SevCaswell In addition to the genetic variance of humanity, cultural variance is also significant, with many cultures throughout history and across the globe having, sometimes radically, different notions of gender identity. Many non Western cultures have recognised at least three distinct gender identities, with some cultures having still more. Personally, I'm inclined to think this is probably because of the variation of sex and chromosomal presentations.

As an older cis man, I can assure you that standing up to pee becomes less and less important as the years go by. It's far more convenient and comfortable to sit down, and as a bonus for those who have a female roommate or partner, you'll never get yelled at for leaving the seat up OR for peeing on the seat. Also if you have kids and you teach them to pee sitting down, the bathroom's a whole lot easier to clean.

I, Jamie, other trans people, have gender dysphoria. It's crippling and not something I can control, and testosterone has alleviated that immensely and has made me finally start to feel whole and correct in my physical form and presentation. I did the same thing with realizing that I'm not straight. I was just a really passionate ally 😂 Then I started getting more and more ads for things about being gay, movies, books, groups, etc and I thought "wow, gay people are really starting to get a lot more representation. That's awesome". And then I happened to look up my Google account info and there's a place where you can see all the things that Google algorithms decided you were: female, white, between 20-30. Things like that. And it had decided based on my searching habits, that didn't have anything sexual at all because it was a monitored work computer, that I was gay. It was literally like "you buy Calvin Klein, listen to Avril Lavigne, read books with strong female leads, own more boots than shoes. You are gay". Actually I'm pretty sure it was because I was semi active on gay rights political issues. I think I signed a petition way back when marriage rights were still not a thing yet and it flagged me.
