FTM - Height Dysphoria

I suffer a lot with height dysphoria and i know a lot of other trans guys do. I went on growth hormone a few years ago which could be an option for some of you. So quick tips for just looking taller as well as how to cope with it. Being small gets me down a lot especially on the romantic/dating side of things but i know hearing about other guys experiences helps. Feel free to share your height dysphoria thoughts in the comments. I know sometimes just getting things off ya chest helps.

But if that makes you feel any better I know 2 guys shorter than me and they're cis adults so.. there are short cis guys out there. I sometimes feel abnormally short since Im shorter than litterally everyone not only in my family but everywhere I go. I kinda have regrets for not doing anything about it when I had possibility altho I probably couldn't afford it cz now its too late.

If it makes any of y'all feel better, my dad and brother are cis males and are only 5'2 and 5'1, im literally the same height as my dad. I am Mexican so its a genetic thing and my people are just that height unfortunately but its not uncommon for cis males to be less than 5'5.

I think the ideal height for a male (cis or trans) is 5'8 to 6ft. Any taller and you'll have lots of issues later down the road. Source: Me, 6'7 cis dude with extreme back pain, borderline scoliosis and permanently hunched posture from slouching in cars

I lucked out at 5'11, not trans, but easy fix in high school shoe insoles, 2 inches, 1 inch, slight uncomfortable, but I wore socks and double socked them, and wore boots in the winter, tall shoes in general. Easy 6'1. If you haven't grown, you could appear to be at least 5'8 comfortably.

Run that walkway. Remember, physical appearance won't make you masculine or feminine but its about the energy you are putting out there. There are a bunch of famous women who are 5'10 and a lot of them are models. If you want to appear more feminine then sway those hips and be confident. You are perfect just the way you are and I am very proud of you for making it through this far on your journey of self discovery.

I recommend using men's platforms, unless they're not your style. I personally find them very stylish and helpful when used together with shoe insoles, they'll give you around 10-15 cm.

Hey Matt! Great vid. Do wth you on this one - I'm 5'4" shoe size 6 (got into bigger shoes from about 6 much to my mother's horror - apparently I wanted size 10 feet and to be 6'2"!). Needles to say we"re about the bloody height of jockeys and garden gnomes but..... I do think that one of our really huge advantages is our hands! That we have bigger hands and vvvv masculine hands and feet. I think that's my consolation prize to myself. I am a hands person so hands on anyone are really important to me. You have great hands!! Sleep at least 6 hours a day, have a balanced diet and do intense workouts. Vitamin D supplements may also help. Good luck!

Yo-here from the future in the sad world of the pandemic and I’m super confused about my gender identity and I’m to scared to try anything, though I will say if I had the choice to wake up tomorrow as a either gender I would choose to be a guy but I’m so scared to try anything and it’s too late for me since my growth plates have basically stoped. Age doesn't necessarily matter, as long as your growth plates are still open. I only went on growth hormone because I was trans. I was below the the height of 99% of guys my age. Growth hormone is very expensive, time consuming and inconvenient so only go on it if you are extremely short or there are some other medical issues to do with your height.

As far as I'm aware, puberty blockers will holt your growth but will not cause your growth plates to close. This means that once you get on t you still have a chance to resume growing. Definitely ask your doctor/endo though.

Puberty blockers don't actually stop growth. Estrogen is the hormone that causes growth plates to close, which is why the typical amab teenager will stop growing much later than their typical afab peers. In fact, there is a condition that makes people unable to produce estrogen (or enough of it), and people affected by this will continue growing indefinitely, albeit with a slew of medical complications. Anyways, as a short bitch who's already done growing and wasn't lucky enough to have supportive parents, please go get ur blockers.

Being 5'7" I know I'm a short male. Short stature for guys is a disgusting, physical flaw, a genetic defect, a handicap/disability. There's no aesthetic appeal to short stature on a guy. This is based on my experience as a short male. 5'7" and under you're short. 5'8" is the decent height. 5'7" is also the incomplete height. You're close to being of decent height, but you're not there - you're still short. 5'9" and up is considered tall, but at 5'7" you're not there; you're far from being tall. I remember being to0ld by other women and other guys, if you were a female, you would be fine. I have seen women my height and many of them look great. If I was a female, I wouldn't date a short guy. I wouldn't put him down or make fun of him (I don't believe in making fun of other people), but I would never give him a chance. Let's be honest, you never hear parents say with pride, "Look at our short son." But if they have a tall son, you will hear them say with pride, "Our/My son is tall/so tall."

Being a short man is far from ideal in the dating world, but I think you are being a bit too hard on yourself. The way you describe your height is a bit unfair. Yes, you can find tons of quotes from women talking about how they find short men gross, but similarly you can find quotes about girls prefer guys in their height range. Unfortunately, its easier to focus on the negatives than the positives. It sucks that lots of women won't budge on their height requirements, but it doesn't mean we have to devalue ourselves just because of their preferences.

Yes and feel totally average, everywhere I go, I have a height dysphoria, cos I live in the country where my height is average, so hardly can I overcome this desperate feeling. When I look at myself I seemed just small, my legs are short and torso also, which is weird. Maybe 6' 2 ft would be great for me. However, many people in society just cant understand me, mainly my family when I tell them about my issue, I hope there will be time when these issues are common to talk about.

It depends on where you live, if you live in the country where I live so 5'11 is still average height. 6'2 is totally perfect, not very tall and you are above average.

@@jacobclement3706 yeah!! i think i was about 14. It really just depends on your growth plates though so you need to get a bone scan to see how much growth you have left. The blockers should stop them closing which gives you a bit of time to find out
