You don't have to use network_mode: host and you can use the standard commented out lines if you simply enclose 21:21 in double quotes, like: "21:21". The docker compose file syntax documentation says any port number below 60 will be interpreted as base 60, unless enclosed in quotes.

I followed same steps as mentiond in video on windows OS. But I am unable to coonect with filezilla. I also tried to connect with WinScp but no luck. Can someone guide?

hey, i havent tried it on windows but it should be the same since it is docker I think just make sure ur windows firewall allows the port u try to connect to and that u bind the port to 0.0.0.0 let me know if u got any problems

Using network_mode: host helped but i have no idea why. maybe my docker installation lacks some priveleges

i also had problem when mapping the port had things working also with network_mode: host couldn't really figure out the reason

Is it possible to give the same user rights for subdirectories or must a separate user be defined for each directory?

If I understood your question correctly It's like when u hit chown -R dir_name It applies for directory and all files and subdirectories inside dir_name -R standing for recursive

@@mediumguy6 Thank you for your quick reply. I was not aware that I had to do this manually outside of the Docker container. Since I only have one FTP user, I have assigned the top-level directory FTP to the user. This means that he also has the same rights for the subfolders in the FTP directory.

@@dguedel look it is possible that in the first time the container is being created the permissions for some files or directories get changed. And it's only for once So u should do the command chown recursively to fix this Let me know if there's anything else

Hi, Is it possible to customize the image and instead of defining users in docker compose file. define multiple users in seperate file and just mount in docker compose file. If yes any help will be appreciated.

@@mediumguy6 i want to make a seperate file for users. And mount that in docker compose rather than to define users and password in docker compose file. I am doing this because of security of user and password.

in my case all users still have permission to see the root directory, in my opinion that should not be.

Then you would have to change permissions on ur root directory Because by default any user created on os will have read permissions on root directory too
