How far can the light travel from the central node/CO/Center to the end home before it is too weak? OM 5 is 550m/1800'?

Fiber to the home networks are built with single-mode fiber, so OM5 multimode fiber would not likely come into play for this scenario. By using SM fiber, the distance from the CO to the homes can be quite long, but it is dependent on the other components in the network and how much loss they contribute (like splitters, connectors, splices, etc.).

I am adding a comment here as proof that I did track down this webinar after a 404 error on ISE Mags site and watched this webinar for BICSI CEC credit
