The trunk has thickened quite a bit in the past year. I imagine it would look stunning with flowers on.

Whatever you’re doing to promote healthy root growth is working. I’ve yet to see one of your trees that doesn’t have a solid root ball. Well done!

You really know how to promote root growth in your trees! This fuchsia will probably look amazing in about 5 years or so. That's some amazing growth! Reminds me of the hibiscus I dug up this summer. Have a great day bro.

Cheers. I hope in 5 years its actually something pretty cool. hopefully your hibiscus will be doing the same :)

Foist!!! Even Baby Stella watched this one today. I love this tree. It reminds me of my yellow flowering lantana. I see you left the foliage this Autumn/early Winter. It’s been tough using restraint and letting mine all grow out for trunk thickness…but I think you were right when you advised me to leave them alone. The repot looks great too. Cheers broski 😎🍺🍺

Great growth and development in such a small amount of time!! You have a great sense for branch selection! Fun fact - if you look inside the 'spit', you will often find a spittle bug nymph. Harmless on developed branches since they are solitary. However, I've found that they can stunt and disfigure tender new growth as they suck the sap. I've started removing the 'spit' when I see it, and the problem disappears.
@BackGardenBonsai3 жыл бұрын
Cheers Sue. I love that they are called spittle bugs hahah perfect name 😂 I will have to remove them if i see them next year, just in case they mess with my delightful growth

@@BackGardenBonsai Thanks Ian. Also, I’d be honoured if you checked out my videos. I wanted to do time lapses like you originally.. but then once the genie was out of the bottle.. I had to move forward with current content. Cheers!

I was considering one of these as the flowers are fantastic. Once you have the shape you'll need to get to know the plant, I watched something a few weeks ago about understanding when buds are set are spring, summer and autumn flowering plants. As always fabulous work, I love months of work condensed into minutes.
@BackGardenBonsai3 жыл бұрын
Cheers :) yes you are very correct. its all about watching and learning what your trees do. How they react to work and how they react to time itself. once you start noticing the patterns you can start working with the tree to get the best results. its a slow process, if only it was as fast as my video lengths 😂

Great work Ian! Is this a yearly repot or once every two years?
@BackGardenBonsai3 жыл бұрын
Cheers Dave. This was the first repot since the rescue. Id rather it was every 2, but based on whats seen in this video, along with the small pot it might be yearly for the next while.

I love it!🤩 I’m searching a fuchsia material maybe for 2 years, without any success. :( Is it a fuchsia microphylla?
@BackGardenBonsai3 жыл бұрын
Cheers. I am not exactly sure what type it is, as i found it in the garden. It was from a garden centre and they are very very popular in gardens here. there are lots of varieties so its hard to know exactly what i have. What country are you in? i wonder why you can not find any!
