What can you use to help clean all those fittings and everything? Is brake cleaner safe to use or just stick with wd40?

This is where you take off the gas cap and bleed the shrader valve.

No. But he neglected to mention to release the fuel pressure on the shreader valve along the fuel rail and take the gas cap off.
