Forgot to show the part where the relay was taken out to release the pressure off the fuel lines. Make sure you do that and run the car till it dies out before swapping parts
@2carpros9 жыл бұрын
affane78 This is incorrect the fuel pump is only running when the key is in the on position. As long as you have the key out of the ignition you should be fine. Please subscribe if you haven't already.
@Derfstang8 жыл бұрын
You are both correct depending on the situation. If the vehicle has been run recently, there will be residual pressure in the system. You will need to pull the fuel pump relay or fuse, restart the vehicle, and let it run until it dies to assure no pressure is in the fuel lines. If the vehicle has been sitting for 6+ hours, the fuel line will not retain any residual pressure and it will be fine to work on as-is.

Yes, sorry about that it is best if you let the system pressure off first, we will inform people of that in our next video thanks for the comment.

Just to share a comment for others about to do this on a 2006 2.3L. It's super simple. Takes like 10 minutes between start to finish, just allowing a few minutes to let the fuel drain. The clips on the 2006 are super easy to release, being just squeeze one side with the screwdriver (as shown in the vid, same exact clip types) and push up with your thumb, unlike quick connects I've had to deal with in the past (needing a release tool and can still be a PITA to get free).

Any chance you could tell me what that 2 wire harness is attached to, about a foot to the right, in this video? I can't seem to find any info online! Thanks

Hi, what is the black cover next to the fuel filtre??? the one to the right, not the tank. Posibile another fuel pump ? I have some noise coming out from under the car and it looks like is from inside that cover . I did had 2 fuel pumps on my BMW and I’m thinking that maybe this escape have 2 fuel pumps also.

Does it matter which direction the arrow on the replacement filter points toward? Thank you for your help.
@takistakis45611 ай бұрын
yes, you must instal the filter the same way it came out, as one side is for filtering and the other side is the filtered fuel. hope this helps

What is the point of doing this exactly? I have a heavy gas smell coming from my ford escape with no leak on the ground! Is this the remedy to that?
@allenwayne68235 жыл бұрын
would full tank of fuel flow all out?
@ednja5 жыл бұрын
No because the fuel exits the tuel tank at the top and must be pumped out. The fuel pressure should be relieved before opening the fuel line. The pressure could be up to about 50PSI and could otherwise spray all over the place including in your eyes.

Are those hoses dry break or something? I noticed you didn't clamp anything and was waiting for you to be covered in fuel. My Miata definitely doesn't have dry break hoses 😂 just picked up this Mazda Tribute as a beater.
@2carprosАй бұрын
Not a ton of gas is in there and when it's not under pressure it wont flow out a bunch. Thanks for watching!

@@2carpros so my vehicle doesn't run so I'm not able to burn it off, I'm doing the fuel filter in addition to fuel pump, coils, plugs, wiring harness, EGR valve, vacuum hoses, filters, fluids, it's an overhaul this car sat in someone's barn for a long time. It was free. But there is gas in the tank that's apparently not very old, from the previous owner trying to get it going. Probably 2 gallons. My Miata has rubber lines that I was able to clamp but these don't look like regular rubber hose and clamps.

For those asking where a fuel filter is located. Don't do this yourself. You still have a lot to learn. Lol.

How do you release the pressure?
@2carpros2 жыл бұрын
Removing the line releases the pressure. Actually it helps get the line off. Just take the gas cap off so it doesn't keep dumping fuel everywhere. Thanks for watching!

@codywright49103 жыл бұрын
You should of released the fuel pressure via the fuel rail Schrader cable before working on it as that could of sprayed everywhere .... Always pull the fuse and run it till it dies or release the Schrader valve before servicing this !!!!!
@2carpros3 жыл бұрын
If you remove the line the pressure is released. Just have a drain pan ready. Thanks for watching Cody!

Bill, how about asking politely where it is? Maybe even do a bit of research yourself, it's pretty simple and would take less effort and time to figure out on your own than you did leaving your hateful, rude and useless comment here. Thank you 2carpros for the informative and very helpful video!
