Good on ya for showing the bloopers. Surely would happen to more folks if not careful. Saved some interiors!

This is would be a helpful video to my mazda tribute 2004. I’ll save this video for future reference. Only difference is the fuel filter fuel line connector. I’ve changed my fuel filter twice already( every 2 yrs since i got the tribute) and it’s pain in the ass to disconnect due to a different type of fuel line connector. I even bought fuel line disconnect tool but it doesn’t work well due to aftermarket fuel filterbad design ( the hose connector is too close to the filter body when connected which prevents the your tool to fit and becomes useless ) wish I can convert it to that kind of fuel line connector. Great video bro. Thank you

My fuel pump isn't anything like that one. I've changed many, and the on the video is a standard fuel pump. My fuel pump doesn't have the two legs. The fuel pump on my vehicle is attached to the bottom of the tank, though I removed the upper half from the inside of the vehicle. I'm at a loss. In other words, my fuel pump is in two pieces. Ok, I figured it out. In some vehicles, the fuel pump will come in two pieces attached by three wires and a hose to the lid. The wires will be red, blue and grey in color. The fuel pump will have two tabs, opposite of each other. Press in the tabs together at the same time or individually and out it will come. Going back, the bottom portion will just snap back into place and proceed with installing the upper half the same way you removed it, but backwards..

Thank you for the video. A friend has a 2006 ford escape hybrid 2.3. The vehicle was parked for sometime. He is attempting to get it to start. He replaced the small battery (under the hood). He also pushed the hybrid battery charging button (next to driver door) while using jumping cables that he connected between the smaller battery of the car and another vehicle ( to avoid weakening the smaller battery). The hybrid charging cycle lasts for about 6-8 min, the light of the button starts to flash, he turns the ignition on, all lights on dash board come on, there is a weak crank that lasts for about 2-3 seconds, but the car does not start. The Lights as well as the AC , etc inside the car come on. Someone suggested it is the fuel pump that is causing the car not to start. When he turns the ignition on, he does not hear sounds coming from the fuel pump area. My questions to you are: 1) What do you think the issue is based on the information given. 2) If the issue is the fuel pump, can he still start the car by bypassing the fuel pump just to get the engine to run even for a short period of time to get the fluids of the car to circulate? What does he need to do to get the car to start? He hopes he can get the car to start so he can drive it to a mechanic shop which is about 2-3 miles away. Any simple suggestions or recommendations to help him get the car to start? He is trying to get it to start as I am writing this comment. 🙂 Thank you

What's the 3 way of the gas line called right next to the filter towards the tire leading to the engine

My '07 6 cyl Escape sometimes runs rough or chugs when idling and accelerating. Replacing plugs and fuel filter did not help. Could it be fuel pump (so far it's not whining)?

This should be titled how to change fuel pump assembly. The pump itself is a part of the assembly and much cheaper than the entire assembly

It's a good idea to do this in a well vented area PLUS have some fans blowing the fumes away. Make sure there are no electrical switches nearby that could possibly spark.

I have just spent three hours of my life that I will never get back trying to screw the plastic collar that holds the fuel pump in the tank. All it will do is cross thread no matter how careful I am no matter how many times I try it no matter if I get somebody else to hold the pump down while I try and screw it on it will only cross thread. Anybody got any suggestions?

Whats it like to support a system of individuals who treat life as a game all while torturing a targeted individual? You people are evil and sadly this is apparently the entire world. This shit is planned out for years before the victims is even fully aware of having no free will or true reality, you should be ashamed of yourself. Same people different face and this is what I assume to be something done since the dawn of time. I hope you all get what you deserve, but sadly life isn't fate and that's a fact that you learn after becoming aware of this sick shit your entire life.
