No need to remove the second green clip completly. Once the first lock clip is removed simply press the second in on the large flat green button, this relieves the pressure on the swage in the filter pipe allowing you to just slide the pipe off. Hope this helps.

I recently changed the fuel filter of an X3 20d (F25) and bleed the fuelsystem with ISTA two times. But the engine still needed to be cranked about 5 seconds and that didn’t sound healthy... Next time I will fill the new fuelfilter with diesel before starting the bleeding :) I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for the tips! Here in Germany we don’t have many channels like yours :)

Great video thanks! On the ISTA at 5:46 the right hand pane entitled Low Pressure Fuel System and talks about control units and electronic systems. Might I please ask whether the notes shown are something to concern oneself with when working on certain F series model and is it indicating that when working on certain F series models (say with an EKPS or whatever) one should follow a different path to prime the fuel system to what is shown on the video? Thanks!

@bmwsolutions7880 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliment. Unfortunately, it wouldn't drain the tank as pressing the start button is not designed to drain the tank. Best solution is to use ista or physically drain the tank using a hose into the tank from from fuel pump.

I recently replaced the fuel filter on my 2017 328d and bleed the fuel system using ISTA. The program completed and said the car was ready to start. It did not start first try, but did start on the second attempt just fine. Should I be concerned that ISTA didn't seem to completely bleed the air out?
@bmwsolutions7880 Жыл бұрын
There's nothing to be concerned about. It happens very occasionally due to too much fuel loss during replacement of your filter. So, if that's the case you can do a second bleeding before starting the car next time you replace it.
@cnote8350 Жыл бұрын
Do you tell the car via ISTA that you have replaced the filter besides purging the lines? I just got a check engine light and a code for filter efficiency low. It’s only been three months.

There should be a another better way to remove those 2 green clips. Ill try to not remove it this weekend by just lifting a little bit up. I think thats the way it should be because of my own experience with clips and such, these things shouldnt be removed.

Hey, great video, I have a question if you have time to reply. Do I need to do the ISTA part on BMW N47 520D from 2008? On ISTA it said - "Bleed the fuel system. Turn on ignition for approx. 1 minute (venting takes place automatically)" And after that it said - "On NG engines vent fuel system via BMW diagnosis system". So I am not sure, should I do the ISTA part or I should not? And the 2nd question would be - Do I only have to have ISTA+ to do so, or I need ISTA P also? Do I have this option on 2008 520D N47? Thanks in advance for any info.

On the left side (the one with the metal clamp) it looks like there's still an o-ring attached to the part that fits into the filter, but you installed the new o-ring into the filter itself. It was a bit confusing for me. Could you please clarify what goes on with the o-rings on that side?
@bmwsolutions7880 Жыл бұрын
Yes, that tiny little O ring is part of heating element, so you don't replace it. Only O ring you need to replace is a very thin one that goes to behind of the fuel filter which comes in the box when you buy the filter.

why is it necessary to have diagnostic tools for and prime? just switch the ignition on and it will take care of itself, and the pump turns off when the required pressure is reached.

Think like this, you're asking a question and giving yourself a like down below 🤯 there are always different ways of achieving things.
