I consider "Fuel" one of the most underrated rock bands in history. They definitely deserved a lot more recognition than they have to date. "Shimmer", for example, is without a doubt one of the best songs of the entire post-grunge era.

Probably. But the reason why I feel the 90’s were special was because it was the last decade before technology and social media ruined so much shit. It was the last time where people actually hung out with each other. Not fucking glued to their god damn phone all the time. It was the last decade where parks were filled with people playing basketball. Kids riding around in their bikes. And so much more. That simply doesn’t exist anymore. That’s why the 90’s are so special.

This was a hard song to find back in the day, what with Staind having a song called "So Far Away" and Three Doors Down all over the radio with "Be Like That", whose bridge sounds like the chorus to this song but on morphine. She calls me from the cold Just when I was low, feeling short of stable And all that she intends And all she keeps inside, isn't on the label She says she's ashamed And can she take me for awhile? Can I be a friend, we'll forget the past Maybe I'm not able And I break at the bend We're here and now, but will we ever be again 'Cause I have found All that shimmers in this world is sure to fade Away again She dreams a champagne dream Strawberry surprise, pink linen and white paper Lavender and cream Fields of butterflies, reality escapes her She says that love is for fools who fall behind And I'm somewhere in between I never really know A killer from a savior 'Til I break at the bend We're here and now, but will we ever be again 'Cause I have found All that shimmers in this world is sure to fade Away again It's too far away for me to hold It's too far away It's too far away for me to hold It's too far away It's too far away for me to hold It's too far away It's too far away for me to hold It's too far away It's too far away for me to hold It's too far away It's too far away for me to hold It's too far away Guess I'll let it go

Legit, one of THE greatest songs of all time. Any band, any genre. This is my #1 example of a song I can listen to a thousand times over and never even BEGIN to get tired of it. I have to try very hard not to sing along out loud when I hear it, no matter where I am and regardless of how much my thin voice cannot even BEGIN to match Brett Scallions. It just has that much power. Back in the day I also made a quite good AMV set to this song. I'm still very proud of that one.

Wow, do I miss this bygone era. I graduated in 2000, and miss very much the pre-9/11 America and music. This takes me back to growing up in northeast Indiana, and listening to 98.9 The Bear. A time where songs like these, STP, Days Of The New, Creed and other bands of the such were the jams. Great memories of that time. It is sad to see where rock has went to in going on 17 years. I miss the days when you could get in your vehicle, turn the radio on and hear good rock music, instead of this watered down crap you hear today.

Iron Head-Ed Sorry for the late reply, I've listened to the Sunburn album and it was good but it felt like more of a singles album. The non-single songs weren't nearly as memorable except for maybe Hideaway (or if you count Walk the Sky from Godzilla). I'm gonna try out Something Like Human next actually :)

They were on their way, but then the lead singer decided he didnt like the fame, or stardom, or whatever, and basically quit. And it was just about right when their star was really starting to rise.....

Sonny Justin Bieber posted a photo of him and his girlfriend captioned "feels". Obviously, it doesn't make sense, but that kid has next to no education, so it's not a big surprise. Anyway, people starting using it to describe feeling sentimental or something. It's really stupid and annoying but people are sheep. I guess they don't mind sounding idiotic as well.

The 90s. Music was so good. And the lyrics were extremely better written.

I was literally in HS when this song came out, became popular, and somehow faded behind other bands songs that had a more mainstream or catchy vibe. But it's lasted, and stood the test of time. The essence alone of this track encompasses the 90's better than any other song. A great time, and one we all miss. 9/11 changed our generation, and not for the better. It stole our innocence, our future, and our hearts.
