Awesome thank you! I have a 04 extended cab long bed like you do but I have a 5th wheel and the rails are welded to the frame so I cant lift the bed and I have to drop the tank lol, it sucks so bad but I'm not spending 300 on a pump!
@enthused7591 Жыл бұрын
Usually best off replacing the whole pump assembly. That pump looks like it has at least 140k on it and pumps themselves always go out between 140 and 170k. Just gonna have to unbolt the bed and jack it all up and take it all apart again, but good video either way.

Must concur, very helpful. Unfortunately, for me it tells me I have to "add the regulator / pump inline for my LS swap. Thanks.

Most excellent of videos Nicko! BRAVO sir...I have a 2006 Tahoe that will require dropping the tank however, your video is most helpful in understanding the pressure regulator is the same one as what is mounted on the engine - sans the tube that connects to the outlet on the top. And to Wes Sifford - yes, this regulator IS your issue. General Motors has logic built into the starting sequence that flows as - turn key / fuel pump and starter begin simultaneously. However, the logic states that if the fuel pressure has not built up to the sensor setting it will stop the starter from turning. In fact, in this situation you can let go of the key and the starter will continue to turn until timeout due to sensing low pressure. The reason the vehicle starts on generally the second attempt is that there is some pressure built up on the first attempt. I learned this from a Service Bulletin that came with a starter I had purchased from Rock Auto - who accepted its return. Replace the fuel pressure regulator as Nicko has so perfectly demonstrated. If you have to drop your tank there are several videos for that as well and here is a link to one that is pretty explicit - kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZ7NkoSsYruWkLc. Hope everyone gets their vehicles starting like a champ!

@@05_slowslivy76 no, not for the year and model I have. The 2007 Chevy Suburban had the fuel regulator built into the fuel pump inside the fuel tank.

Did you have a problem with pressure bleeding off when you turn the key on but not start? I have a 06 suburban that I have to turn the key several times. Wondering if this regulator you replaced will fix my problem or if it’s the check valve inside the fuel pump.

@@chivabrothers9997 I don’t believe this issue is totally accurate… I just replaced the whole fuel pump on a 06 H2 and it didn’t fix it.. if it was attached to the fuel pump I would have had a new one with the pump.
