Fuel Pump Relay Cut-off Switch - Easy Fix 2001 - 2005 Hyundai Sante Fe

Car turns over won't start. All signs point to fuel pump? Before you take it to your mechanic check to see if there is a Fuel Pump Relay Cutoff Switch. If there is it may have switched off because of a bump or something. To reset the one in the video you push down in the centre, like a button.

@@EdwardHomerVIC Unfortunately mine doesn't have the relay, I took a chance on the pump on the drivers side and I chose correctly. I pulled the old pump and it broke apart,lol. I guess that's way it wasn't working. I had to fish parts out of the tank, luckily I didn't have much gas in it. With the new pump it's starting and now driving.

Thanks, I had no idea that the fuel pump/tank was accessed from the back seat, I thought the fuel tank would have to be removed. What a job that would be trying to get the driveshaft and muffler out! LOL

Can leaving the hood open in the sun trip them? That seems to be what's happened to mine. Going back now to check.

@@EdwardHomerVIC thanks for the response. Turns out it was the relay itself. The sun shining on the box caused it to pack up. Once it cooled down it worked fine. It's the only thing that changed. It could just be wearing out I suppose.

Hi, can i find it on hyundai getz? Im not getting power on my fuel pump 2 wires, weird thing is the fuel gauge wires got power, but the black and brown for the pump got nothing, relays and fuses are good..is that switch found on getz too?

the 2004 SantaFe doesnt have one except the strainer on the pump. ... it seems hyundai was smart , while putting on new strainer, maybe you will break plastic pump frame or damage the delicate fuel level float device... and just buy a whole new pump assem. my mom bought this POS ripoff import, now i have to work on it for her... BTW yall should study the timing system. on the 2.7L v-6 it uses a rubber belt to run all the valves, mounted onto the extremely hot front of this interference engine . which means the piston will crash into the valves.... like i said POS .....
