Oh yeah! The gauss cannons are blown from the maelstrom, so the primary method of burning caustic off is negated, forcing you to use the star! That whole rescue was freaky!

At the time there was a bug that made RotCorr mess with your thrusters xD unfortunately the COVAS tells you this every time flight assist is turned on or you enter SC or a new system :P
