Now there's something you can never hear enough of these days - when a live performance sounds identical to the the recorded version. He's spot on note for note, a lost art with so much of today's music. What's bad is listening to the band play a different version of their own song at a show that everyone knows and loves because of the original version that it was sang in. Fuel was a well tuned band and I love that this guys not getting all fancy with it - he's just giving the people what they want, and appears to be owning it. But then again I am wearing headphones.

My best friend since we were both 2 yrs old passed in March 1998 at age 21, the same week this album came out. I vividly remember this song playing on the radio on that long drive to his funeral in Vermont. Beautiful song but hurts still to think of my buddy, miss you Josh!

Some of my email friends on the West Coast say that Fuel doesn't get talked about much unless it's reminising (sorry for spell error) the 90's and nostalgia. Very good times. I always felt Fuel would be a little underrated over time compared to other bands that get way commercialized. On the West Coast Alternative rock has such a different feel now. I got an email from a lady friend that said she really misses MatchBox 20 being played on radio. Also she loves their live performances. Have a good week.

I've seen a lot of people commenting that Brett couldn't sing anymore by 2003-04, due to damaged vocal chords or a nose injury. This performance looks to be from that era. He sounds pretty good here, and isn't lip-syncing. I saw Fuel live 3 or 4 years ago, was pretty close to the front row. He sounded great.

He lip-synced most of the natural selection tour in 2004/5 it’s a shame because he had such an amazing voice.

Oh, I think Carl Bell has talent and writes very beautifully. Yet... Brett's voice was simply perfect to sing the songs Carl wrote. Just... the feeling he puts on every song is unreachable. This version of Shimmer simply ROCKS! I love it! I love the whole concert. The Prove version is my personal favorite.

When this band released their first few singles I thought they were ok but I liked heavier music. I seen them play at LRS Fest in Louisville KY and at first I was just going to leave when they came on stage but I decided to hang around just for a few and it ended up being one of the best shows I've ever seen. This dude has a very underrated vocal range and it's something that's hard to pick up on the actual studio albums. When this guy wants to he can really scream with a severe intensity. I know this guy is no longer part of the band and I'm not even 100% sure of the band is still together but I would love to see if this guy is still making music somewhere else.

Something about being a cute homeless kid made musicians not kick me out when they saw me lurking around. Anyway, when i saw him walking across the arena . I couldnt speak. I couldn't walk closer to him. I was SOOOO in love with him i just stood there. He even came up to me to say "hi" but i just stared. lol.

I disagree. Yes, without Brett, Fuel is not Fuel....BUT saying Brett "IS" Fuel is ridiculous. Who do you think writes the vast majority of Fuel's music??? Just take a guess........CARL BELL. Brett is absolutely the face of Fuel, but songs like Shimmer, Hemorrhage, Sunburn, Bad Day don't just grow on trees. Carl deserves just as much as praise if not more than Brett.

@holden1787 During a show right before the Sunburn record came out, Carl accidently rammed his guitar into Brett's face during a performance of the song "Ozone". Brett thought he could continue singing until he realized that it busted his mouth up and he couldn't even speak. Most people think that's why his voice "changed", but his voice only changed due to vocal damage and fatigue from the Something like Human tour, when they played 6 shows a week for almost two years straight.
