If you check the size of GLA and Audi Q3, its quite similar when seen practically. You get drive and feel of a BMW for 50-60% the price of luxury cars. Jeep in the focus of proving that it is not a cheap vehicle and to get the market share of Creta and Brezza started comparing it to them. It worked in 2017. 2023 has overcrowded compact SUV segment. Jeep had to get a newer product to take on this segment and have Compass more polished to take on Q3, GLA and X1. They just need to change their mindset and get out of 2017 mindset.

I have the Compass which I use only for long rides, the cushioning of seats is meant for long journeys since it is on the harder side. Soft cushioning is good for city rides or short rides since it offers more luxury than comfort. Also, fabric seats are always a better choice for long journeys (available on my Sport variant). I have a sedan with leatherette which is very uncomfortable for long journeys. Another plus is the ride quality, the all-terrain tires work great on semi-urban roads.

Engine sharing is quite a normal phenomenon. Fiat source 1.3 diesel was used in almost every second car. But it did not produce numbers for Fiat where is Maruti Suzuki killed the market at that time with the same engine . Fait had to wind up, its jeep that poured oxygen. Jeep & Fiat is owned by FCA. FCA Manufactures these Engines in India in FCA/Jeep Manufacturing facility which is partly owned by Tata. Tata manufactures Harrier & Safari from the same factory where Jeep Compass is manufactured. So logically hes is right.
