I have been driving the Compass 4x4 S now for almost 3 years and had got it just after its mid life update. Over these 3 years (almost 50k) I have taken it to the most remotest of places in the country and some of the most challenging off roads as well. The advice from friends and people in general after seeing the car and proposition of doing these routes is of apprehension- “luxury car hai, kharab ho jayegi” but trust me, this SUV is so real that it can move mountains on a Sunday and then when you go back to your metropolitan life on Monday, is one of the smartest and most comfortable cars in any corporate car parks. Long highway rides are simply DNA for this vehicle and rarely have I felt any fatigue on my regular by monthly run to my hometown 650kms away. Truly outstanding. It’s a lot of money but it’s for that quality and safety. I have the green colour and I call it a tank, it probably is one. 😊 Places visited- Laddakh, Nelong, Manali, Munsiyari, Kashmir, Chitkul, Darma, Binsar, Spiti, Harshil, Chanshal, Sankri, etc etc etc

Perhaps manufacturers should option expensive features such as ADAS and sunroofs. Consumers should have a choice of opting out. It’s irritating how these features are shoved down your throat every time you want to buy a top of the line vehicle. In that sense, the compass is a gemstone. ☺️

Jeep represents more than just a mode of transportation-it's a lifestyle, a symbol of independence, and a testament to the spirit of adventure. With it's iconic design, legendary capability, and enduring legacy, Jeep continues to inspire. Rugged yet stylish exterior, generous ground clearance, well appointed cabin with comfortable seating, high quality materials, touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto, and the rest are physical buttons (easy to operate). What more could an enthusiast ask for? It's worth every penny. Though it has it's cons too, but everything can be ignored when you LOVE someone. I am living the Jeep life. Cheers!!

We own the facelift compass. It has been an absolutely amazing experience for the past 3 years. I’ve done 12 hour drives to my native place so many times on it. It is a perfect highway cruiser. Even took it mild off-road, walks through it with ease. In terms of service it’s been a mixed experience. Basic maintenance and scheduled services are a breeze. But if any specific work is there then first it is a little on the expensive side and secondly it took some time to get the car back. Coming from the old fortuner the service part was something that felt inferior for sure. But all in all a must try if anyone is looking in this price range and travels long frequently.

This led to bigger manufacturers into the marketing campaign likes of Vocal for Local. It really was a time then whereas now its just who has the biggest car in the sub 20 lakh budget. But the smuggness of drivers in Compass is bang on. I have never seen a non smug compass driver ever. Awesome job MotorInc Team.

In my ownership of my 2019 compass limited plus 4x4 diesel manual, the extended warranty has been the true MVP. The car requires frequent maintenance and maintenance is (very) expensive. Parts are expensive, wait times are long, and the labour is expensive-er still. It's a high quality product which rewards the keen driver, highlights the ignorant and complacent ones. You have to pay attention. There are rattles from the panaromic sunroof and the dashboard. The car is surprisingly competent in mud and sand. The sharp 18" alloys are eye-catching but limits AT tire options. Not the most easy in the city. The clutch is heavy and can catch new drivers with its engagement. Solid package for luxury seeking adventurous people.

I own a 2022 Compass Petrol Limited (O). And yes, it is pricey. We were considering other options like the Kushaq and Seltos and it was a big jump in price in comparison. But we looked at it this way. My family owns and uses each car for 8-10 years at least. Over those 10 years, the price difference seems less of a burden. And we get a better built, better quality and overall better feeling car for those 10 years. As for the service, we have been Fiat owners for the past 12 years, and we were lucky enough to have a friendly, prompt service centre close to our home. So the service experience has been quick and hassle free, a bit pricey though. If you have a good service centre near your home, you're gold. If not, may god give you the patience of finding and dealing with one. This has been the case with all Fiat / Jeep products though. Great products, but anything after the initial purchase has been a gamble.

Having owned the Fiat Palio and then the Linea T jet , we had almost decided to buy the Jeep Compass . However the 2024 version didn’t appeal as we thought some cost cutting done and the quite pricey. Still it was on our list until we test drove the Taigun GT+. The DSG and the overall design coupled with product knowledge of VW team changed our decision in favour of Taigun GT +. Since the Fiat days I notice that the sales team aren’t selling the car aggressively by showcasing the features and not at all eager to convince the buyer.

Though I have high concerns about Jeep's future in India, its after sales service and maintenance being very controversial and number of users facing malfunctioning. Need advice on Kushaq vs Compass
@MrDurgesh8917 күн бұрын
I had no plans to go for Jeep Compass, I was more inclined towards X1 and Q3, one of my cousins suggested to test drive Compass as well, and I did. Everything changed after that, the suspension and engine power was not just at par but even better in many aspects. Service is comparatively expensive around 20-25k each time, of course you need to dodge unnecessary things that service centre guys wants to bill you. Regarding the future of the Jeep in country, they have a stable sale, on top they manufacture cars here in Ranjhangaon Pune and export to all Right side driving countries from India only. Moreover, the same engine is sourced in cars like Harrier, Safari and Gloster etcetera. Till today, I never regretted going for Jeep Compass. I might be biased towards JC but this because of my experience of owning JC.

Been driving A 2.0 Diesel for little over past 2 yrs. An MT. And by far the most stable and fun drivers SUV on Indian Highways. So So much fun to take it to my hometown back in Delhi and Jaipur from Banglore. And so many times, with the entire family. 2 adults and 2 dogs. They all love it. More over, she has gone to happy trails to Sikkim, entire circuit, and Leh. And she is the only Compass in India which was driven to Leh Circuit with only a human and a dog companion. No fuss, no drama. Ate the Himalayan terrain like it’s a routine course. Complete blogs there on Team BHP. And mine isn’t even a 4x4. The capabilities of 4x2 are beyond what one will use for 95% of their lifetime. If you are a highway muncher.. and love getting out this is the best car you will thoroughly enjoy. Costly, yes, spares and services costly, may be. Satisfaction index… a 100%, highway mannerism, top notch. And for the city too, the reason to pick this against the bigger fortunes and endeavours is the more manageable size. I do city commute too and she’s much manageable there too. So in my span of 2 yrs and so, my 2.0 MT D had been a peach. And many more long distances to cover. Don’t think too much… just Get Out !! 😂

A Former Compass owner, now Tata Safari Top Model Owner. I had the pleasure of driving the Compass for 5 years before I changed to the Safari. It was a magnificent vehicle at its price tag. No gimmicks, only performance. But we Indians always look for something extra. The reason for Jeeps downfall is they have introduced changes only after their competitors did, making the customer feel cheated. A Seltos with everything but a little less performance is more appealing to the customer than spec less Compass. This is the sole reason I changed to a full spec Tata Safari top model.

It has gone to next segment the 40 lakhs mid size suv which has few takers. Moreover competition has really improved with Cars like Tata Harrier , Safari , XUV , ScorpioN, Seltos offering everything for a variety of buyers. Pricing along with that rear bench are the only reasons we see so few of these on road, but when you see one in red with a black roof it still puts a smile on your face.❤It.

I own the 2022 Compass Petrol Limited, and have driven roughly 30k kms, where majority has been the highway. Its a drivers car. Steering feel is unmatched. The stability on the road is unmatched. Suspension, better than many of the peers... and the kick you get when you press your foot down on the pedal!! Some people do compare prices with the Seltos and Creta, but i personally feel the facelifted version of 2021 is a true gem. The exterior although simple and similar to the previous, still looks better than 3 generation upgrades of a lot of competitors :) The interiors is something which many car manufacturers are loosely copying with those straight line running through. The touch and feel is always premium and no tacky switches. In the limited, the 360 camera and TPMS is missing, however i never felt the need for that. Having said that, the after sales is not good, especially in certain cities. Parts are moderately expensive.. But then..nobody would buy a Compass for 'kitna deti hai'.. isnt it?

I have few questions to Compass owners. 1. How’s passengers comfort? 2. What about rattling noise? 3. How hard is clutch for the tight traffic cities like Bengaluru? One more question to car enthusiasts. How about buying a good sedan ? Is ground clearance for Indian roads is still a concern?
@somsuvrabose8 ай бұрын
@@ManoharRR 1. Passenger comfort - the seats are good quality leather seats with a little hard cushioning, if you compare to Harrier, Seltos. The rear seats have two protruding parts just near the underthigh which helps a lot for the underthigh support. Enough space between legs and front seats. Four people very comfy. 5 can also manage. 2. Rattling noise - thats something not every jeep owner experiences. It was a problem with certain 2021 models. Ive read a lot on the forums that people did a lot of felt linings inside and near the wiring to reduce/ get rid of that. 3. I own a DCT 7 speed, so cant say much about the clutch. What i have heard is its moderately hard. Hope that helps ! :)

I have a Jeep Compass Sport Diesel MT, Sep 22 model. It has TPMS so it is not exclusive to top variant. But I completely agree that this car is not meant for city use. I use it as secondary car for highways and countryside. That is where it shines. I have driven it on really bad roads, under construction or missing roads and it really is worth the money there. Even after driving 400 kms, I don’t feel like stopping. Only negative for me is the AC which struggles in summers unless you put the fan to high speed where it gets noisy.

@@sarwara3973 The car is not meant for stop-and-go driving. You won't enjoy the drive in bumper-to-bumper traffic because the turbo engine will be rendered useless. Mileage will be disappointing too. Remember that 2.0 Turbo engine is like a 2.5 non-turbo engine but only if turbo is engaged.

Spot on review. Decided to buy mainly to 'Get out'! After 3 yrs, I'm glad I did, on every single drive. Multiple highway trips, many over 1000 km in a day, have been with virtually no fatigue.. I only wish the 9 speed auto was smarter. The 4x4 has surprised me with sometimes with the places I've managed to get to in stock tyres - i'm not an off-road buff but i drive a lot of narrow beaten village roads where the size of the Compass is a BIG advantage. If you learn to feather the throttle right, you can get 10-11kmpl in the city, and 14-18kmpl on the highways depending on the speeds you maintain (sweet spot is 110).. A weak spot I've discovered is the front windshield that tends to crack (twice so far) with even the slightest impact, (including if the wipers are dropped carelessly, the service centre told me) - looks like the weak link in a chassis and suspension that can handle quite a punishment

But in something like this or Spark for instance where the presenter speaks directly at the camera there is definitely a script involved and in order to ensure that the said words are delivered properly our mind subconsciously makes us more careful while adapting to the way we want to speak. Pauses are the way to show the importance of the point anyway. Every presenter does that. Some more than the others and at different paces but everyone does. Thank you Motorinc.

Meridian owner here. Bang on review! It’s NOT a city car. On the highways it’s a beast. Designed to munch miles while keeping everyone in the cabin happy. I’ve done Bangalore to Kashmir in my Meridian and loved every bit of it. The suspension is the highlight of this SUV. It has the magic carpet ride and it just decimates the bad roads. I use a small EV for city commute so don’t have to worry about the Jeeps shortcomings as a city car.

I was a Compass owner. It has great build quality (in a crazy accident where a motorcycle rammed into the driver door at high speed and I did not feel a thing), loves the highways, is a pain to drive in the city, and has a fabulous diesel engine. Done many out of town trips in it, with the longest being a Pune-Ladakh-Pune roundtrip of 6500kms over 23 days. I had it for 5 years and sold it just a week before its extended warranty expired. Simply because there was too much unreliability about parts and when they will break down. And when they do, replacement/repair is prohibitively expensive. Buy it only if you think 30+ lacs is small change for you, you are going to spend a lot of time on the highways, and like to do some [minor] off-roading.

Kartikeya sir, this has been an absolutely brilliant video, couldn't agree more to every single point mentioned. As someone who has a Compass in the family, each aspect of this review hit the mark! The Compass is definitely NOT a city car, the engine simply isn't suited for it. Moreover, it gets really rough over time. I have a 2021 Compass manual in the Limited trim, and the car really does struggle in heavy traffic. But once you hit the highway, it's a completely different story because that engine just opens up and drops heaps of power and torque that make cruising simply lovely. Furthermore, the interior experience described by you is 100% accurate, the cabin is creepily quiet, bar the tires, they are a pain for sure, and some of the first batches of the 21' Compass did have issues with them in the start. However, they do last long and can handle some light off-roading. As for safety, my family and I couldn't really ask for more because the car has everything we need! 6 airbags, ESP, TC, the works, and the renowned chassis and frame. As for the suspension, my goodness it's rough at low speeds but it makes a full 180 when the car goes above say, 50 kph, and then the experience is terrific. Unfortunately, Jeep's after-sales experience is a joke, my car has gone in at least 5 times now, some for routine checkups, and some for manufacturing issues. All i'll say is that it may or may not be a deal-breaker if someone is considering buying the Compass for sure. But yes, apologies for the humongous comment. Thank you for this review, keep it up, and I can't wait to see more!!

What a beautifully shot video. Presentation and the information shared are topnotch as always. This made my day as a Compass owner and I wholeheartedly agree to all the positives and negatives shared. I bought my Compass MT back in 2021 when the face-lift was announced. XUV 700 wasn't launched back then and he only other cars I had considered were Harrier and Tucson (pre face lift). One long test drive is all it took for me to fall in love. I knew I what I was getting into. Car is an emotion for lot of us and Compass may not be "value for money" but it'll keep you happy for a decade. You'll be smiling even on days where you have covered a thousand kilometres. I know design is a personal preference but I feel design of the Compass is timeless and classy and will not feel outdated any time soon.

Have been driving the 2021 facelift, model s 4x4, and it’s a pure joy to drive on the highways, rough roads or no roads. I never got stuck anywhere, despite extremely heavy rains last year in Himachal, when I had water inside the car, it kept going, only to malfunction (electrics) after I reached home 12 hours later. And frankly I find it easy to drive in city traffic as well or maybe that’s because I am used to it by now. Only 2 downsides however, firstly, too many punctures. Even after shifting from Bridgestone to Pirelli scorpion (don’t know if it’s a car issue, Indian roads issue or my luck issue). Secondly, nearest service station is 60 km away. Everything else is very good in this car and it’s a very tough little SUV.

@motorinc8 ай бұрын
Hello SS! The engines will feel the same in both. The creta’s advantage is better backseat comfort. The Kia’s advantage is the cooler looking cabin. You could pick either, easily. Hyundai seems to tune their suspension a bit better compared to the Seltos - so without having driven their updated versions together it is hard to say for sure - but it is safe to assume the Creta would be a it more comfortable because of that too. The experience that Compass offers is not in the features but in the feels of a car, the moment you close the gate you feel the acoustic glass doing it's work all the external noise is muffled the feel of the soft plastics all around the interior, perfect leather stitching and when you are on the highway it just feels so planted in comparison XUV while having a softer suspension Xuv was all over the place and a bit scary, so the price i think is worth it as the ride quality of Compass compares to BMW , Mercedes level but at half the price and the best thing is that it's Made in India. Service experience is good for people living in major cities just tell them to do a basic service and don't let them add unwanted stuff that is not required.

This is just my take 🙏🙏🙏 No doubt it has the best looks (Personal opinion) in the segment. It's Off Road ability is world class and appreciated around the world. It's feature loaded. The issue is that it feels like a Creta pro max in terms of size, and 3 people can't sit comfortably in the back seat. The overall package also seems expensive for what really Jeep is offering. I myself spoke with an owner, who was stressing on the issue of Jeep's service. Spares aren't easily available, and the overall service is also expensive. The network isn't great either. There was another case in which a Compass got broke down on the first day of purchasing itself. Jeep has to address these issues. If such great companies fall short on such issues, there isn't any other way except for leaving the country. One can always learn from the Japanese and Koreans like Suzuki, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, ETC on how they do Marketing of their cars, and how efficiently they manage their service. Moreover, they expand their network as much as possible. Once you walk into their showrooms, they can easily persuade you to buy their cars, but that's not the case with many automakers today. It's easy to criticize them on safety front, but they have their own Trump cards, upon which they are ruling the market today.
