I ve done this by car , 250cc scooter and large motorcycle and believe need to treat as part of the holiday. Excellent vlog. I so love spain

Hi there, I found your video excellent and informative, I am thinking of driving to Spain with my cat and I have a few questions. 1) Did you travel on your own? 2) Did you stop overnight with your dog and where? 3) I assume you was in a left hand drive car, how do you manage the tolls? 4) How was your dog through the trips? 5) What was the total cost of your trip? The answers to these questions would be very helpful. Thank you.

Hi Kim, I did not travel on my own which made things easy paying at the toll booths and yes my car is left hand drive. We stopped over in Bordeaux and booked a hotel online with Booking.com from the car. There are plenty of hotels that are pet friendly at reasonable prices. We paid 45 euro’s but i would not recommend it. Best to book before 4:00pm that day. We left it late and lost out on the one we wanted. Fuel was expensive on the motorways in France and Spain all over 2 euro’s we set off with a full fuel tank and filled up 3 times. I think fuel costs must have been over 200.00 euro’s. In Fuengirola the price is more reasonable at 1.80 per litre. Tolls were around 120 euro’s so you can see it is not cheap. But thats the price to take a pet. The dog slept most of the time and was on a seatbelt harness. There are plenty of services enroute to stop and have a walk around. I did not count the cost exactly but it was around £500.00 all in. The roads are good in both countries and i would do it again. Hope this helps.
