It might look ridiculous when there is no traffic but when it is heaving with hundreds of vehicles you will be glad of the space because it helps to ease the congestion and contributes to keeping the traffic moving. Just make sure you are in the correct lane and it’s easy.

It takes FOREVER from Paris - 3 hour drive ... then 90 minutes to London. Done it many times but it's ANNOYING when the M20 is almost always under construction. England need to fix their f--------g motorways once and for all.

Have been using Le Shuttle since it first opened, I have had 200+crossings the French terminal is way better than Folkstone but the road layout is a lot different from how it used to be but it's easy enough to navigate, just make sure you are in the correct lane for type of vehicle you are using and go when your letter is displayed on the departure board.

Check-in at least 1 hour and not more than 2 hours before your scheduled departure time. The train journey itself is 35 minutes.

It’s a cinch. It takes up so much space because the trains demand hectares on infrastructure due to nature of running a railway. So much quicker - usually - than the ferry.

Ok,this has brought up questions lol. Did you actually sit in the car on a train? Is that how it works. Somehow, I thought you were going to drive through a tunnel. Is it one carriage per car,I got confused when the doors closed then reopened so quickly. Assuming a lot was cut. I have only ever travelled to France via ferry,so really curious.

Yeah you drive onto the train and the attendant guides you to where you park. They normally put about 3/4 cars per carriage. Once parked you can get out your car if you want. They have toilets you can use but that is it. The crossing takes about 35 minutes

@@tulipwindmillthe channel tunnel does not have any way to drive through it. It is all trains. You can either go on a passenger train through it, or park your car in one of these special trains.

Muy complejo. El Estrecho de Calais-Dover apenas tiene profundidad y es una llanura submarina (entre 20 y 68 metros máximo de profundidad). En el Estrecho de Gibraltar, la profundidad mínima es de 300 metros y llega hasta los 900. Solo son 15 kilómetros, pero el túnel deberá contar con unos 40 kilómetros. Las soluciones flotantes y el puente se han descartado.

There is a big difference between the terminals on the French and English side. Fresh and nice on the French side. The English side doesn't seem to be maintained at all.

When they announced with was a car train back in the 90s, I could not have been more disappointed. I wanted to be able to drive from places like Johannesburg, Chennai, Bangkok and Tokyo to Glasgow non-stop, but NOPE, gotta take a train.
