@amyrush46132 жыл бұрын
@@stuntedgrowthmusic I think it does add to the allure it! Before people could really enjoy the 1st project, critics, execs, and detractors were already anticipating the next project, it was like they wanted to prove that TMOLH was a fluke and she couldn’t replicate its success. I think she could have but it was a perfect storm brewing in her personal and professional life coupled with her own disenchantment with the industry that got in the way of a 2nd album. The unplugged album was like a compromise but She was being authentic in her artistry even though it wasn’t what everyone expected. It’s no denying that The miseducation was a breath of fresh air at the time (SN: Kanye’s “Champion” is also my favorite Kanye song). IN MY OPINION: The Miseducation and It’s Dark and Hell is Hot was the hottest albums of 98!

Music in general just took a nosedive in quality around the turn of the millennium. The soul died, not just in Hip Hop either: adventuresinpsychonautics.blogspot.com/2022/07/the-telecommunications-act-of-1996.html Even if they'd stayed together, they would've been expected to do collabs with Justin Timberlake or Nelly Furtado to get any airplay in the 2000's.
