On March 31, 2023, a man was involved in a reckless police pursuit in a stolen vehicle from Charlotte County to Lee County, Florida. According to Florida Highway Patrol, the incident started with a report of a stolen Ford Edge SUV traveling south on I-75 from Charlotte County. Troopers were alerted to be on the lookout for the stolen vehicle and subsequently spotted it on the highway. The troopers attempted to pull over the driver, later identified as 22-year-old Miguel Andrade of Port Charlotte, at mile marker 143, Bayshore Road in Lee County. However, Andrade refused to stop and continued to drive south, leading to a high-speed chase.

Sorry, guys. I didn't include the video from the primary pursuing officer because it was unwatchable. The video only captured the area below his vehicle's bumper, possibly indicating that the dashcam wasn't properly installed.

Judges and PROSCECUTORS-like the one Governor DeSantis removed from office just west of this event. One funded by the same piece of shit that funded bragg in n.y. that has dropped 52% of felonies to misdemeanors, then only convicts 51% of felonies after that, and 64% of misdemeanor charges. Jack - I hear what you’re saying but it’s not that simple. There are a limited number of beds in the prisons so judges are severely restricted in what they can do. I imagine they are under pressure to reserve those beds for criminals convicted of violent crimes against persons. So they use less favorable alternatives and diversions even if they may not want to. Of course, we rarely think about that and instead vote for the “Law and Order” candidates that are typically the same legislators who promised to cut our taxes and cut government spending on the very programs that would make it possible for judges to lock up more of these career criminals.

That's because they don't want to damage their squad cars and cause them to be out of commission for a while, not to mention the added expense to the tax payers to cover it. If they would do it, these chases could be ended a lot sooner with a lot less risk to innocent bystanders and fellow drivers, and in the end, the costs would be a lot less.

Thats because they don't want it to work, they go through the motions but always leave an opportunity for a getaway. The cops just like the chase so they can drive fast, legally. In the UK cops hardly ever mess up a box and hardly ever damage their cars doing it. They're just better at it.

I travel from Sarasota to Ft. Myers 2x a week for work and witnessed a small portion of this pursuit firsthand. The speed, danger, and carelessness of the criminal do not do the video justice. That portion of I-75 is always heavily populated with traffic. It was insane and went on for miles. Drivers weren't sure whether to pull over, stop, stay in the lane, or what. However, the calm and professional manner in which the officers conducted themselves post-chase is beyond impressive. There is no way in the world I could have been that relaxed with that criminal after chasing him for that long. Well done FHP!

I wonder why that trooper refused to push in his side when it all unfolded. Was he waiting for his engraved invitation to stop the vehicle? By refusal to stop the Ford at first, he risked far greater injuries to everyone else.

FHP earns the bonehead/limpwristed award for the day AGAIN. PITT the guy right at the beginning in the grass and be done with it. Don't risk all those innocent people's lives with a hi-speed chase.

@@AppalachianPatriot You should probably remove the videos titled "how to cure ED" from your favorites list. Anyone can go there and see your problems. Until then, thanks for the laugh today. I was gonna point out how wrong you are but I see you have bigger problems.

Bravo the police, you have a dangerous job and you deserve our respect. As for these dangerous fools who think they are all powerful at the wheel of a vehicle, we must not give them the slightest chance of getting out.
