I realize exactly why Beethoven preferred Handel over Bach. Just Because he would do the same if he was for Baroque. Just as Handel did it. Even though he knew Bach was better but he was jealous, for that reason he states that Handel is the best & not Bach.

Lol no. Bach's music was lost by the time Beethoven started learning music. Mozart probably thought Handel was greater than Bach as well. Basically, the only good music of Bach's Beethoven knew of was the WTC. Dont spread false knowledge when you don't know the answer.

Leonhard Euler Mozart & Beethoven knew more of Bach’s music than just the wtk. Where you getting that from? There was literally contrapuntal studies of past Baroque masters in the days of Mozart & Beethoven. Plus one of Bach’s own sons JC Bach knew Mozart & admired him very much, you think he wouldn’t introduce Mozart to the works of his father? Plus you can hear many musical evidence in Mozart & Beethoven’s works that there is clearly a JS Bach’s influence & not Handel. Even though Bach’s music was not known to the public during those times doesn’t mean it was lost, it was not revealed to become known, for those composers who were deeply influenced in the music of Bach could’ve definitely find ways to get hook ups with more of Bach’s works. Which I assume were definitely the cases for Mozart & Beethoven. Don’t attack me for the wrong purpose, go straight to the point! You didn’t like the fact I said Beethoven was jealous of Bach, that was the reason wasn’t it?

@@ProdigyImprovisation The thing is Bach's best works (Contropuntus, Brandenburg concertos etc) feel to oblivion, Beethoven didn't know about those works. Beethoven calling Handel "better" has nothing to do with Beethoven being jealous. He called Bach "the sea" rather than a creek (Bach means creek). Beethoven made the best conclusion with the pieces he had.

@@ProdigyImprovisation "Mozart & Beethoven’s works that there is clearly a JS Bach’s influence & not Handel." Clearly, you are not well. Mozart arranged many of Handels works (Handel's messiah, oratorios etc) and you can hear MANY elements of Handel in Mozart.

@@ProdigyImprovisation Mozart quotes Handel in his 36th sympohny and Beethoven clearly was inspired in his Mass.
