Thisismyusername227 I know, it’s surprising how very little information there is on the web about this revival, and this revival represents a very interesting time in Broadway history where they were just beginning to experiment with non-traditional casting and you got shows like The Wiz and the all black revival of Hello Dolly with Pearl Bailey and Cab Calloway, and you even got a revival of Of Mice and Men with James Earl Jones as Lennie (who is a character written as being white.) Of course nowadays non-traditional casting is pretty standard practice-just look at the cast of Hamilton!

I love this, but it's NOT Motown, this was an all black cast of Guys and Dolls with Robert Gulliaune (Bensen)as Nathen Detroit

this cast recording was absolutely produced by Motown. I am looking at the CD right now
