In the movie Hiyoshi was kind of... replaced by someone else who seemed to be both a mix of both a yakuza and Akutsu. XD I think it was so they could add some extra plot into the movie that could help it wrap up nicely.

I hit the shot at 1:10, hard back hand slice on a weak top spin serve while wind was blowing twords me. Unfortuneately i have never done it again T.T and it's not recorded D: so i have no proof. but if you wana try it i recomend a eastern grip. i step with my left foot (which is wrong by the way) and swing horizontally across, slicing the bottom of the ball. the spin and connection makes the ball hover slowly over the net and bounce back with hard back spin... proudest moment of my life

I'm pretty sure by USTA rules, Fuji just lost the point at 1:35 by touching the ball twice before his opponent touched the ball and before the ball was considered dead (in this case it had to touch the ground twice in a row or hit a fixed object). It's stupid minor rules and things like this that keeps PoT players from winning Wimbledon.

just because the hakugei technique in this movie seems impossible to practice in real life, u can't judge it destroyed newton's law,, hakugei used wind to lift up the ball,, by slicing the ball from bottom which giving rotation to the ball, the speed rotation caused the air velocity around it increased n so the atm pressure at top decreased. it will caused the ball lift upward , n with the presence of winds will help it more. that's bernoulli's priciple of simple newtonians law..=.='

You cannot apply enough backspin to make this techniques work without hurricane strength wind. If the wind was strong enough to push the ball back into the court, then the ball would be incapable of flying upwards in the fashion it does.

lol if this kept happening to me in real life, i would just attempt to swing somewhere completely different from the path of the ball, or just hit soo close on the rise that the ball doesnt even have time to take its spin to full effect. lol and yea catching the ball as it comes back is soo badass, but technically u would lose the point, and its also a relatively easy shot to return, just the surprise factor gets ppl

PoT is not a sports manga but rather a fantasy manga about narcissism and social darwinism, like twilight saga on a tennis court. near-perfect characters you simply can't relate to. for a guy to come up with this kind of story, takeshi konomi certainly is gay.
