It's not broken down completely, it still works from a photo taking standpoint, but the bottom plate (which you can't really tell from the photos) was torn wide open after it fell roughly 30' onto a giant boulder than another 10' from there onto a pile of rock :) The metal casing was to twisted to repair, leaving the bottom of the camera exposed, hence my need for a new body.

Thanks Dmitry! The fact that you want to see more videos is the highest of compliments. The only trick is Jordan and I work full time IN The Camera Store, do radio and tv ads for the store as well, and sometimes see our families if there's time. All TCS videos are done in our minimal spare time but we love doing them so we try as hard as we can. We'd love to do this full time and if that ever becomes possible you'll see more videos for sure. Thanks for watching! Chris @ The Camera Store TV

As the lenses require firmware (to be released in November I'm sure) they don't take advantage of the phase detect on the sensor. So it will no doubt be even faster AF once released.

Tonight I shot with the X-E2 without flash while we trouped around the neighborhood doing invited Christmas caroling gigs at people's homes. Got the camera recently and couldn't get the built-in flash to work. Thanks for that, because the "high-gamble" photos I took handheld with the 18-55/2.8-4.0 were wonderful. Also, I've discovered that Fuji RAW files REALLY let you dig out the shadows with Adobe Camera Raw. All in all, I sometimes wish I was an all-daylight photographer, instead of constant night gigs and indoor low-light shoots. Bleh! But wow, I've been stunned that this tiny camera does a better job in low light than my full-frame Canon 6D. For consistently great-looking photos out of the camera, it actually beats the 6D. Of course, when the 6D is working at its best the pixel-level quality of the photos is better (more croppable). But I'm ditching the 6D and associated L glass for Fuji - that's how good these little Fuji cameras are.

@NathanElson11 жыл бұрын
Nope, all shot using available light. With the shot of Chris in the parking garage, he was lit using one of the lights mounted in the roof of the garage, and the splash of light in the background was from natural ambient light spilling through an opening in the wall. That's about as far as 'off-camera flash' as we got.

Thanks for the review! Ended up buying the camera. Was worried a bit about AF, but have to say I'm really happy with the performance of the X-E2. However, I really hope that Fuji will come with an update to solve the problem with the seriously exaggerated noise reduction applied to faces and skin's on iso's from 3200 and upwards for the X-E2! This issue wasn't there on the X-E1 so hopefully it can be fixed.

I would like to see a video discussing the pluses and minuses between the XE2, A7r, EM1, Personally i am considering the XE2 because the image quality is close to full frame, but it's still a smaller system than full frame with the lenses, but there are things I still love about the Em1, like the touch screen that pivots, and the touch focus and shoot feature, the weather sealing, time laps, IBIS, and even smaller lenses, but the A7 and A7r have me drooling also, but it's missing some things

Great review! I'm on the fence between a X-E2 and a GX7.. and maybe even the X-M1, but more-so the X-E2.. just worried about how bad the AF is.. i know its extremely snappy on the GX7, but the image quality seems to be way better on the Fuji.. but how bad is the AF really..??? any way to show a vid of the back screen autofocusing?

Another great review... I have question, would u recommend X-E2 over D610 if the size is not a concern. I'm thinking either to get this or D610 with 85mm 1.8. What I care the most is color, high iso capability and DR. I've seen photos taken from an X-Pro 1, and I'm amazed on how clean those photos even as high as ISO 3200. How can a camera with an APS-C sized sensor produce such clean image at high ISO nearing or in par with FF camera? Thanks in advance.

in many videos i saw that photos were taken with f2.8 at very high speed about 1/4000th as here, and iso is higher than 1000...does it make sense? why not low down iso and get good quality photo, 1/1250 or 1/1000 is pretty enough to get sharp image..
@randydowell925510 жыл бұрын
people always seem to think that you have to have the lowest iso possible. and while yes, its usually a good idea to keep it low, cameras these days can handle being all the way up to 1600 iso with pretty much no noise. i would rather have an image that has a tiny bit of noise thats razor sharp, than an image with no noise, and a tiny bit of motion blur or out of focus.
@Yayadays1119 жыл бұрын
+Randy Dowell Super late to this comment but the reason is simply because the photographer doesn't care. 1/1250 is pretty enough for football, let alone he is using a wide angle lens

Well if I were you, and I needed a camera right now or in the near future, I'd pick the X-E2. Because the X-E1 is at the worst possible price right now, but in 3-6 months, it will fall down. The E1 is a great camera, I have it and I love it, but I will not upgrade to the E2 since I only have it since May. I'll take the E3 when it comes out though, but I'm just plenty happy with what the E1 currently offers me. But if money is an issue, take a second hand E1 in 6 months, if not, the E2 right now.

+Chomin Aberasturi I bought an a6000. there's nothing wrong with the body. It's just that there are few affordable lenses. There are also very few 3rd party lenses and they're also pretty expensive. I want a 70-200 2.8 or a 28-70 2.8 lens but there are no nex lenses with those specs. The only way to get access to those lenses is to either use LA-EA4 with A mount lenses or get 3rd party adapters with canon/nikon lenses. Apparently, just moving to a different brand is more affordable. I slightly regret buying the a6000 not because of the body but because of the few selections of lenses it's compatible with.

well the auto focus on the x e1 really isnt that good at all. If, and so everyone claims, the AF of the x e2 is better, go for the x e2.
