The so-called kimchi is not unique to South Korea. Basically, in several parts of China they make fermented cabbage and usually it's called paocai in Mandarin. They are quite similar or same to Kimchi but can be made in different ways and there are slight variations from place to place but it's not so big deal. The title here is not quite correct but it is easier to say its kimchi.

Hello this is also the first time I am making a comment in this channel. You're korean so you imagine like all koreans that the Chinese copied the culture of the koreans LMAO for your information IT ACTUALLY IS THE OTHER WAY AROUND. Tell me did the Chinese use the rudimentary korean language for thousands of years or was it the other way around??? The koreans continued using Hanja which was based on Chinese written text even though your king sejong had completed developing your rudimentary hangul in 1443 and it was officially announced in 1446. What year did south korea start officially using hangul??? Talking about culture - is Confucius/Kung Fu Tze a Chinese or korean??? korean culture is basically based on Confucianism. Do the Chinese eat like koreans or is it the other way around??? The koreans claim that the kimchi is korean. The Chinese developed the art of preserving vegetables/meat/fruits etc to a much more sophisticated level much much earlier than the koreans. Prove that the puny koreans did this kind of stuff earlier than the Chinese before you dare say what you did!!!

Lolz this is the first time I had ever seen anybody turn preserved chinese long cabbage or pek chye into a sauce. Grandma is full of imagination and is so innovative in her cooking. Everything she turns out looks attractive and delicious. I wish I could eat some of her dishes! My ancestors were from the same province, from a county called Lam'uah.

I make Kimchi quite often because Nappa cabbage is always inexpensive and Kimchi is very tasty and versatile. I have never seen Kimchi with Ketchup. My twist is to add some fermented chili paste, two kind of ground Chili peppers - hot and flavourful and fermented oyster juice. Seems to be Grandma‘s own flavour profile😮.

Could somebody tell me if grandpa grew all these great vegetables and fruits??? If so then I raise my hat to him. I hope grandma does not harvest from the farms of the neighbours Lolz.
@FuJianGrandma2 ай бұрын
Most of the vegetables and fruits you see, at least 90%, are grown by the grandparents themselves! Only a very small number of fruits are harvested on the farm!
@thescribe71172 ай бұрын
@@FuJianGrandma So if a very small number of the fruits are harvested on the farm does it mean most of the fruits grandma uses are harvested on other farms? That means the grandparents grow mostly vegetables and less fruit??? Thank you.

I honestly never thought about kimchi sauce. That opens up a whole new menu of choices. I look forward to using the sauce in my cooking over the next couple of weeks. A perfect cure to the winter cold. Thank you for sharing this method. ☺ The translation says ketchup. Is it tomato paste that has been flavored or is it just plain tomato paste?

You could leave it out but a 1:1 ratio of soy sauce and rice vinegar would do the trick to replace it. A google search will provide you with all the information you need.
